Genuine VTC5s - Is It Over Already? - Not Yet, just a delay

Whatever that seller says i'm still not convinced, more than one respectable vendor has been "had" with supposedly real VTC5's only to have to recall them later. The general opinion is that there are no real VTC5's in the UK and stocks have been exhausted since Sony stopped producing them a while ago. If they are indeed real ones then fine but it begs the question:

"Why have they waited until now to sell them and considering the lack of them in the market, i would expect prices to be higher than those listed?"

Agreed but i thought that i would stay on the right side of litigation  I still think it odd that they have hit the market after such time?

The "story" was that production ceased when the Fukushima plant got trashed, they moved production to another country where the plant's various production streams were to come on line in stages.  And who know how long they have (if indeed they are) been supplying OEMs, they are an OEM product not a retail product after all.

True but there is always THIS

The date is strange on that, seen that reply banded about for at least a year from Sony retail Customer services. Norbert (Ecoluxshop) is trust worthy, tests his batteries before sale (I know he gave me 4 he tested so wouldn't sell after a delivery went astray a couple of years ago) and Orbtronic are respected players in batteries otherwise I wouldn't have given this a second look.

Have they got the fake and real the wrong way around in pictures 10 & 11? If you look at the square code in all the photos apart from the last two the line with no break in it is on the top and the right of the battery? I'm not doubting you one bit but would like to know how to tell the difference so I could send back if I found they were fake. It's slightly confusing how to tell the difference the fake looks a faded green and the print is more faded? And the weight?

They're recycled pics gm111. We all know how hard the VTC5s are to get hold of, so are pictures of the genuine thing - soooo many pics of the fakes.

Norbert @ Ecoluxshop knows his cells, and I trust his judgment. The results of his tests prove they're genuine.

Hard to believe? Maybe. But he only got 100 so no time to stand still.

I have some on the way. By the time I get them and confirm them it'll be too late so I won't be posting. No point saying good things about something that's sold out ahem 
ETA: I wouldn't be surprised if these did look different to the originals. Rumour is these are made in China the Philippines for Sony, so it's quite posible different crimping methods are used at the top. Tested specs are bang on.

I believe he's testing a lot, if not all the cells before he sells.

Just want to make it clear to the newer members, neither myself nor kreed have any connection/interests with Ecoluxshop - Norbert is just one of the better best vendors you can find on ebay, as has been proved on many occasions
