I'm new to DNA devices as I could never justify spending so much on a mod but then got a cheap dna30 chip and built one and thought wow that's really smooth seems to change the vape quality but thought it's probably because I built it and I'm all chuffed with myself for doing it. Then just got a Vaporshark again only DNA 30 and it's exactly the same smooth vape.
Why is it so different to isticks/cloupor minis which until now I thought were brilliant to be honest, I think the isticks are PWM are the cloupor minis also and how does that change vape quality, or is it all in my head?

The Dna gives a much smoother or constant power level than PVM mods which modulate the power up and down whilst firing. Also your not comparing apples with apples so 20 watts on both mods equals, for example, and don't quote me on these tough figures, but 20watts on a Dna is 25 watts on A plane mod even though both show 20watts on the screen.

They are just good quality design, components, manufacture & quality control so are very consistent and reasonably accurate. When companies sell at ultra low prices they have to cut corners to keep in profit, there are bargains to be had and the competition keeps prices low in general. I was just shopping to replace our bbq after 16 years of good service the bottom had rusted through, I didn't get a Webber, but they are good though expensive with many cheap copies on the market that probably cook 95% as well, but doubt they will last as long. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Yep makes sense to me, I knew about PWM but thought what difference will that make at the frequencies they use but now I am thinking that must be the reason for the 'rattlesnake effect' that people talk about, never knew what that was til I used a DNA device. You're right about the apples and apples thing as well I've found I vape at higher wattage on the dna's getting up to the dizzy heights of 12W sometimes whereas on PWM devices it's rarely above 9.5-10 W.
How's your build performing bud and are you planning another one soon?

Nothing definite on the next builds yet but I have some shape ways credit and two spare dna30 boards so I'll likely order a couple of those first design windows did but with the rounded top corner in funky colours. Once they are done I really like the look of the Sagittarius mod so that's likely next.

Know what you mean my build never goes out of the house either, I'm looking for another small box to play with but theres very little suitable on the market it's a pity shapeways don't do smaller mods I would be tempted then.

smarties Greg @windows I notice that vape escape have massively dropped price of their evolv 30 chips, from £49, down to to £19 ( 7 in stock) so if you have the skills to build its worth bagging! I wish I had some aptitude as I do now sub ohm, but around 20-22 watts is fine for me - if I could build/carve I would!

nice one Greg! I'm afraid I blew my expected birthday money the other day on additional wireless cards, bases and skins (like I don't already have enough?) but YAY!! couldn't resist the bargain

Yep thanks Pepperty did the same as Greg and bought one while they were cheap and had a go at building cos I thought well if it gets fried by my non existent soldering skills it's not such a loss, I'm sorely tempted to get another one though. Also got one of those cheap Vaporshark dna 30's I think you pointed out (thank you) and I'm definitely a DNA convert.
