Nope it just wont fire anything under 1ohm at any watts.

b16jop it has nothing to do with watts. A regulated mod has fixed points for not firing. eg reverse battery polarity, too high/low volts, overheat protection (limited button press time), but more importantly to you, a minimum resistance in the coil, which it assumes may be a short circuit. iStick 20's will not allow you to use an iSub because the resistance is too low for it. HTH
