First foray into squonking

Bought a smokeless owl squonker from @spikeyfridge
And I must say for an elcheapo device its not to bad.
It's obviously not a patch on our resident squonker builders work but its a great cheap way to give squonking a bash.

Build quality well its plastic erm its plastic , but it does work lol easy to set up and chuck different builds onnthe included Atty, which is actually quite good just a shame its not a pyrex window section.

So I have spent the afternoon trying about 5 different builds.
And even though this is a duel coil Atty I have settled on a 0.8 ohm single coil with muji wick. Useing golden Rollie 50/50 juice.

Guess I'll be building my own soon lol.

Been thinking about it today. I keep building the damn things yet ive never tried it myself. Definitely gotta get myself a good atty and give it a go.

I was dubious that it wouldn't soak the wick as efficiently as doing it with a bottle but ye it bloody works, rather well tbh and so far no dry hits yet all day.

Because of you I'm now skint as I've just ordered a geyscano 50w and some more Samsung 25r, you are very naughty !

Here is the smokless owl - owl with derringer bf Atty on it working like a charm.
I have had the box appart, replaced wires and the contact spring lol and its performing markidly better.

Excellent news! Once you've tried the geyscano, get one from @windows ! The one I have stays home, geyscano comes out with me.
What you did replacing this and that, is beyond anything I could get my head round so fair play improving it.
The atty which comes with the geyscano is pretty bloody good too! But get a zenith 2.5 from FastTech or a genuine cyclone with airflow from somewhere. Well worth it! Oh and while I'm at it, have a look at the chalice on FastTech*

*no half measures with squonking!!

I have ridiculous amounts of mods and atties. What I actually use all day every day is a completely unmodified Smokeless Owl with a BF Zenith clone from FT on it.

One day I'll tear it apart and sort the issues, but meanwhile with an HE4 cell and 0.2 ohm Zenith it works just fine.

Must admit I'm loving the derringer now it's converted to a squonking Atty, I drilled the senterpin through then drilled 1 mm above deck into the post.
The flavour this produces is intense.

Only reason I ripped it appart was I noticed some heavy voltage drop on it.
It might have just been this unit after royal mail as it worked fine for spikeyfridge.
Replaced all wires with silicone coated multicore copper, made a new connection point for the negative after removing the nasty coating they used.
Then I though what the heck as it was in bitsi replaced the spring as well lol.
