So did my clone k4 the only 1 time I ever used it on a DNA40 shark.

My k4 did this too.

No such problems running the kfl in temp mode.

I mostly run drippers in temp mode now which is where Id be getting the dreaded dry hits on occasion.

My same original shark I got over 6 months ago works absolutely fine in temp mode. It was just a bit of a learning curve. Although the shark body has seen better days xD

The thing is.......the mod needs to be safe enough that the atty shouldn't matter.

People will use lots of different things on it.................and should be able to.

Who wants to buy a mod ........ and then worry about whether the atty they use is compatible?

The fact is....that the coil autosense on this thing is flaky........and there is no way to lock it in a mode.

And........Joyetech have removed the ability for it to have firmware updates.

I think it WILL be a good mod eventually.........but people should wait until it is.

But all temp limiting mods will have trouble with poor connections, it's just physics because of the need to detect small changes in resistance. And using any other method would require extra sensors and connection for these so special atties.  It is a limit of the open system (510) and the only practical ways I see this changing is with all in one devices or a new mod-atty connection system.

Would like to know if anyone has put a volt meter on the battery pack in these to see if they are series or parallel.

Maybe consider its the less than optimum K4 510 that is the issue rather than the mod, after all you wouldn't run a sub ohm tank on an ego.
its great that vaping kit has progressed so quickly over the last 6 months or so but the end user also has to accept some responsibility that their kit is matched.
im a bit surprised Busardo used the K4 given the known fickleness of all temp control mods if connections aren't optimum.

I think its reasonable to expect that the K4 might not read right in TC mode.

I don't think it's reasonable that the mod will not see a nickel or titanium coil, change modes..........and carry on firing in wattage mode.

Has been his way with temp limiting since the beginning, he sat next to Brandon from Evolv and was told the tempored nickel was easier, but come the DNA40 review he forgot and had a good moan about building with standard annealed nickel.  He then renamed it temperature guessing because the YiHi was so different to the rest.  He normally gets there in the end and changes his mind quietly and sometimes admits he was wrong as we all can be, I can remember when he had his genesis epiphany, he hated them for ages before someone built one for him.

Not watched it, but I had a poor Origenny clone that would cause the DNA40 to drop out of temp mode occasionally, the ones I use now never do.

Most of the people responding in this thread are very savvy with TC.

I'm not worried about you guys at all.

I worry about the ones who aren't.

Don't get an SX then they don't auto sense at all.

In this case......for those people......that's better as it's LOCKED into a mode and cannot switch to blast a ton of watts through a ni or ti coil.

PBus has never been the sharpest with TC but it was the battery parts of this mod I'm interested to find out. For that PBus is normally the man.
