A plume veil is pretty easy to quad coil on with the four posts and a lot of space. Even better when a used as a base for a doge with a competiton cap. I'm looking forward to this months toy dropping in my mailbox - a VA goliath clone. Octa coils anyone?

I know I said I wouldn't be trying that again for a while, but I figured I needed the practice. Again every time I just got it all lined up, one of the legs would snap from too much messing with it. After much stress I worked out what the problem was. Annealing the wire was causing it to snap if I messed around too much getting it setup. 1st Time I tried it without torching the wire first and it went without a hitch. Changed how I wrapped it slightly, so the legs to the deck were better positioned for wicking and wicked it better to improve airflow more. Now all 6 air holes are clear, and the air is flowing under the coils better. And yes enjay I have gone back to micro coils so it gave more room for airflow.

Regarding annealing, I never do it, not even with the 18G 1.02mm wire. I always just wrap the coils, bend the negative legs as needed, fit it then pulse gently till it glows then release the button and squeeze the coil. I used to always heat them first and do all the squeezing first but been learning quite a lot especially last year. Seems to be all working out quite well. Hardest part for me is still finding new flavours I actually like lol
