Was running short of my medicine tonight, but obviously couldn't get in the car to the supermarket and get my 'Famous Grouse' which is on offer there at the moment, so walked up to the local Spar to top up with a few other things. Anyway on the way back down my avenue, one of my neighbours popped out and said... 'Dave, you like whisky don't you' (don't know how he knew!  ) and would I try some 18 year old Glenfiddich he'd been given as a present and didn't know if it was any good. He poured a more than generous measure, and I gave him the assurance he needed. He then went to his shed and produced a bottle of blended whisky from his recent Spanish holiday which he gave me. Why did I go to Spar... should have just knocked on his door.  |

Nice one Raffles we could all do with neighbours like that To me... neighbours are more important than anything... we can all live in a mansion or a tent... but our neighbours make it a life worth living!  |

Must be whisky-giving day. This morning my octogenarian neighbour gave me a bottle of Bells for making sure nothing poked out of her letterbox while she was away.

Lucky you have not got my sister neighbour, the police have been knocking on my sister door about once a month for about the last year, accused of everything from garden leaves, car with no insurance, etc. numerous council complaint letters from decking to drain pipes.....knew he was a PITA but only found out about a month ago it had got this bad, my sister and mum keep this stuff from me from because.......... but it had got too much. Anyway it's all been quiet for about a month now.....funny that.....  |

Mine are pretty good, couple one side I'm attached too, the guys alright we chat a lot, don't think his wife approves of my life style though. They go away to their holiday home most weekends in the summer so I can blare my music out. 2 old ladies on the other side who are sweet. One I typically have to help with her car, she gets in a right old pickle and gets stuck on her own drive, don't know what way to turn the steering wheel, god knows what's she's like on the road...!

I only have one lot of bad neighbours and one lassie in the block next to me with 6 year olds who calls me 'nonce' whenever she sees me (alas I don't know her name) but still

I have good neighbours too. Having a problem mowing my lawn with my new mower, my neighbour offered to bring his mower round, ended up doing all the lawn and said he would do it everytime time he did his own, he kept to his word too. They also clear away all the snow from my front paths. Neighbours, every body loves good neighbours....  |
