sleedale this wire (2 0.2mm wires twisted with 0.5x0.1mm ribbon) is bloody fantastic for the subtank mini. 4 wraps at 3mm gives 0.6 ohms and it vapes brilliantly. The smoothest vape I've had on a subtank and it really keeps the heat down at higher powers. I cant recommend it highly enough. Dirt cheap as well. As for the wicks, I cut them so they reach the base and then about 2-3mm longer. Push them up, screw on the sleeve, push them down and towards the centre, leave them holes open. It allows a higher powered vape. The Mrs swears by them now, and wont touch pancake wicks any more.

Congrats sleedale! and I too find that really packing more wick in solves subtank mini's leaking. I'm new to learning coiling too, same as you ... it's thrilling when you learn and achieve something! Just used 28 twisted ribbon for first time, coiling goliath for first time, and had never done dual coils before either, plus got to 70w on sigelei.

Twisted Kanthal A1 Type Wire - 0.2mm (32 AWG) x 2 Wraps + 0.5mm x 0.1mm Ribbon Wire - 10 Metre + Spool - 7.23 OHMS/M thats the description www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com use for it. It works a treat on the new style of head decoy linked and the old style head. (The Mrs has both types in use with this build, and sees little difference between them)

Nice one sleedale I must admit that I prefer making twisted coils, in fact they are the ONLY ones I can reliably do, I know the sense of pride you feel my friend

Thanks again peeps. I will get round to trying all the suggestions to stop the leaking, and even might try thatguy wire/ribbon coiling, but that's for another week. Off camping for a few days later today, seems we might finally get some sunshine out there. I'm taking some bits of coiling gear and wick so I might just have a play in the sunshine! I'm even taking my spare twisted wires with me.....

Thanks folks, having been so pleased with myself, I find I'm really struggling. Coils made and fitted, ohms leaping around once in use Have just ordered the twisted wire thatguy suggested so hopefully that will sort it. I only have thinner wire so can't seem to get low ohms which these tanks are brilliant at. Once I've sorted it, then another tank will be on its way along with a few spare decks (maybe) or a shed load of occ coils

i think that is the rebuildable they have I've got one of these on the way with the new rba base. Any tips for wicking with this base? I have a lemo 2 and it's only ever leaked when I over fill it. Now I've figured where the fine line between 'full' and 'too full' is its been solid.

Tried the pancake wick, well my version, and it leaked worse, but they do prefer to be vertical, and now I just wick as per general instructions, with plenty tucked down the chimney, if you see what I mean and it seems to work ok. But vertical seems to be the key
