Thanks Ripshod. I use aniseed in fruit with menthol juices. I don't get an aniseed taste but the juice is better with it. I've always kept all concentrates in a fridge but will now try leaving the menthol & aniseed out of the fridge and see if it makes any difference. Last time I kept my concentrates in the fridge my menthol turned solid, it has a much higher freezing point than water/PG

Shocked to discover that 2 juices I have bought last month have BB dates, 1 is 10/15 the other is 02/16 will keeping in the fridge increase their shelf life Tbh . . . . I take no notice of BB dates Phoenix ., whether it's on food or eliquid/flavouring - if it smells ok, then I vape it or eat it. Can't be doing with waste, despite being a bit extravagant on occasions! You are incorrigible perps.

No point in keeping liquid in the fridge, it'll do nothing to increase the shelf life. E-liquid has a BB date due to the flavourings which themselves have a shelflife due to chemical breakdown, most should be good for a couple of years. As mentioned by a previous poster, they are only Best Before dates so as long as they smell ok and taste ok then i'd use them. Menthol liquids will solidify with decreasing temperature as the crystals reform, if it happens stick the bottle in some warm water for a bit or in your pocket until they melt again. TBH if you have liquid for more than 2 years you don't really like it do you

I've also been wondering 'bout the fridge for My Baccy concentrates....? Fridges and low temperatures are used to decrease bacterial growth, assuming that the baccy concentrate is in sterile containers there should be no reason to put them in the fridge. PG / VG are of the alcohol family and therefore have a natural resistance to bacterial growth so no need to chill them either. Nicotine is a complex compound that is affected by energy being introduced into its thermodynamic system either from heat or UV which have the ability to break the chemical bonds and alter the composition. This is the reason that nic base does well if it is stored in amber glass bottles and put in the fridge or freezer.

I had a big discussion with another vaper on a similar note the other day reference potential bacterial growth on that hardly used, slightly minging dripper that's looking a bit gunky. Firstly, bacteria doesn't grow well on either PG or VG, secondly the second you start that coil heating any lucky growing bacteria will be destroyed in a haze of kanthal scorching heat. ***NOW FOR TODAYS COMPLETELY UNRELATED USEFUL SCIENCE BIT*** Making chilli oil with FRESH chillies could readily send you to hospital with botulinum poisoning which with be both painful and fatal. The toxin likes anaerobic environments (oxygen free) of which oil is one. Remember peeps, make chilli oil with dried chillies
