Thought it would be a good idea to have a place where little tips can go, rather than have a new thread for every tip. So if you have any mixing quick tips add them here.

I'll start off with this little one, the thing that I hate most is measuring VG, its hard to draw it into a syringe, and if you use a cylinder (like I do) there is always a few ml that stays in there. So I've marked my bottles, I now mix 100ml at a time, but this could easily be used for 30ml bottle upwards. I just measured the set amount of thinner liquid into one of my bottles, marked it with a permanent marker, then sellotape over the top, now every mix I can just fill to the line with VG then add everything else by syringe or cylinder as usual. I also marked it as 50, 60 & 70ml so I can mix 50/50, 60/40 or 70/30 without effort.

Good tip Q. The most useful item I've purchased are measuring cups with a nice pouring spout. These are plastic, would like some glass ones.

If your making small test batches 5-10 mil put a bit of blutack on bottom of your bottle first.

Only get out the concentrates you need for a single mix at a time - that way you won't be distracted and add two different recipes into the same bottle! (and no, I've never done this, before you ask!, because I follow my own advice above ^^^).

On my regular multi-concentrate mixes, I am premixing the concentrates and letting the mix steep. This then becomes a one shot mix. I also premix the PG, VG and Nic so the mix is quick and easy. With the PG, VG, and Nic being premixed, it makes test mixes so much easier.

Another one from me: get a "milk frother" from ebay/amazon for a couple of quid and use it to whisk you mix.... speeds up steeping no end

Best way to shift large quantities of VG from one large container (I use 10l containers) to smaller bottles is using a turkey baster

If you've got a Dremel type drill then cut a cotton bud at one end like below and use it to really froth up a new mix and get the steeping off to a good start

Don't fret over fractions of a ml - your taste buds won't notice the difference
