Lucky old me, I am going to New York for a few days very soon and had been thinking about not being able to vape on the plane. I will carry a couple of Ego VV batteries with pre filled Cartos in my hand baggage, my LT & Liquids will be in my suitcase. I will also put my SD keyring in my hand luggage. I had thought i'd probably try a sneaky vape in the loo on the plane as the flight is 7 hours but was concerned about setting off the smoke alarm. My usual Dekang Menthol, PV Cherry menthol and FV Cherry menthol produce a lot of vapor. Today I have just got 10ml of Freedomvape 100% PG medium Grape liquid and have just discovered that if I inhale it, on exhale virtually no vapor is produced so this is the liquid I shall be prefilling my cartos with, although it's not marketed as such it seems to be a great "stealth vaping" liquid. Oh and it tastes rather pleasant as well.

What I do is blow the vapour down slowly or blow to a tissue..

Dunno if I've got the guts to take the risk of my normal stuff, but I think I can risk the FV Grape juice.

I think you have just about hit the nail on the head. A big thumbs up from me

Des, are you taking spare batteries in your suitcase? I was just wondering as I read somewhere that all batteries should be in hand luggage? I've had camera batteries etc before in my suitcase

I've had camera batteries etc before in my suitcase I don't think there's a problem in your suitcase, as you're allowed to carry mobile phones, laptops, cameras, shavers etc which all have batteries in them. If I take my Lavatube (I may not) I'll take the batteries out before packing in my suitcase. I have flown to Spain, Jersey & Thailand carrying a e-cig before without problems. Link to Diect Gov website about what you can/cannot carry in hand and hold luggage www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Foreigntravel/AirTravel/DG_176922

I've had camera batteries etc before in my suitcase I saw this somewhere too karma. When I flew recently I put all my loose batteries (in battery boxes!) in my hand luggage and had no problems. I also put a bottle of juice in with toothpaste etc. in my plastic bag to take on board - just in case!

Just outta curiosity........has anybody ever seen that video that 'Smoke2vape' did with the fire alarm and an electronic cigarette ? It's impossible to set a smoke detector off with water vapour ! try it and see for yourself....lol

Depends on if the detector is optical or ionization type..
If it's optical, which it most likely is on planes, it will..

Hi Des,
The e-cig would defenetly set the smoke alarm (It might not set the smoke alarm at our houses but the ones installed in the planes and most of the commercial places are far more sensitive)
I use only pure vg juices from James which produce massive amounts of vapour. And when I am boarding the plane I get an ego battery and a few clearos which are full (vg juice and clearos does produce lots of vapour)
The trick is to cover your mouth with a tissue when you are exaling that too downwards. The tissue absorbs almost all the vapour and the one left would not bother the smoke detector
