Hi, Getting my DNA40 mod very soon but a touch confused as to which is the ideal Ni200 to use. I'll only be making single coils and wicking with Muji cotton, mainly for the kayfun but also for drippers. There's tempered, annealed, tempered+annealed. Stealtvape's site says tempered is best for cotton, annealed is better for silica/voodoowool. VMC's nickel is tempered AND annealed. So i'm a touch confused as to what the ideal type of nickel I should be buying! Any help appreciated! lem

StealthVape are correct, would add steel wicks to silica list for annealed. The other lot are either mistaken or being disingenuous as you can anneal then tempered, but the rest of the world would just call that tempered. If you heat tempered enough it will undo the temper and become annealed.

Annealed for wicks you wrap a coil around, it's a bit softer. Tempered for coils you make on a former then thread a wick through, like micro-coils.
You can do both with both so go for what you do the most, for most vapers that would be tempered.

It depends on your wick lemental, tempered for cotton threading, annealed for silica/mesh wrapping. Tempered is stiff and springy, annealed is soft and bendy. Tempered and annealed woud be the same as annealed onle I believe. Annealing any metal makes it softer/more bendable. It all has the same resistance, whatever method used.

Thanks VapingBad tim:) More often than not, I'll be making the coil on a former and threading cotton through so I'll go for the tempered. It is all a bit confusing, especially with VMC stating their softer wire is tempered and annealed!

It is all a bit confusing, especially with VMC stating their softer wire is tempered and annealed! Indeed, as physically it can't be both. Tempering makes it harder/stiffer and annealing makes it softer/more flexible. I think they may mean they have both types, but it got lost in translation
