I have started strumming my Kanthal microcoils when fitting, and it seems to quickly and completely eradicate hotspots; anyone know how this works? I'm not scientifically minded, and would love to know the physics behind my coil-stroking!

It just spaces the loops a fraction so they don't short across loops, I find I need to with thin Kanthal to.

Kanthal surprisingly doesn't like heavy metal tunes, think it's the alloys in it. However if you can strum Hotel California on your dual coil build, you'll never have a hot spot. (Dire Straits works as well)

Yes this pic was before I trimmed them, not much mind, there's nice big juice wells on that dripper!

There must be at least 15 wraps on each coil - come on DiscoDes, give us the stats, what gauge wire, what ID for the coil, number of wraps and final resistance - I NEED to try something like that on my Plume Veil coz the weather's so dire I'm running out of housework!!

Temp 200C 30W
Vape cloud acceptable, but could be better
Flavour poor
Is it my coil, my RDA or is it just me?

Sorry VB, but I couldn't of anyone else to tag!

I have not used any of that kit, but I suspect that there is not enough contact area between the coil and wick, putting it into SteamEngine calc for that gauge wire, 3 mm former & 30 W recommends around 14 wraps.
