Had a great day on Friday, two TC mods arrived along with Ni & Titanium wire, plus some Ni heads for the subtank mini. I've been playing with the mods and my new Aromamizer RDTA system (will be subject of another post), and thought I would use the nickel heads in the subtank to get me going.
Getting loads of vapour at a variety of setting on the two mods, but no flavour at all. Have changed juices and settings many times on both mods. Tried hot, cool and all temps in between.
The vape is very "dry" hard to explain, leaves your mouth feeling like all the moisture has been sucked out & no flavour, none.
Is it just me? I have read rave reviews of the Nickel heads, loads of flavour & vapour, I only seem to be able to get the vapour.
Any thoughts?

Not used nickel coil heads, but I have been reading the opposite of rave reviews lately. I have read the subtank ones don't like to be screwed in too tight and if it is a poor connection the temp will be lower than expected and it may be worth gradually increasing the temp.

im using subtank mini clones with kanger occ coil heads pretty much exclisivly on TC mods (still practising with nickel wire)
there is a flavour difference and harsher flavours are toned down perhaps i just think its a more suble flavour when vaped with TC..

I have used both premade OCC coils, but mostly I recoil and wick my own after they were used, never had a problem.

I'm going to try a nickel recoil of an OCC head and see if that helps. My Kanthal OCC recoils have always come out better than the factory made, more air in particular. So fingers crossed it may make a difference.

I use genuine Muji cotton, and NI200 from Stealthvape, and find just enough to give resistance when passing through the coil is ideal, no dry hits (the TC should be taking care of that) and a really nice vape only improved by using the RBA deck with the recent changes, ie juice wells enlarged and a 2mm hole drilled in the side, and now you can buy them already upgraded to the v2 from Myepack in the UK or FT if you can stand the wait.

I've rebuilt an OCC head with nickel, and it is a little better than the bought OCC head, but not much. Getting plenty of vapour again but still very muted dry flavour. I have a "new" RBA deck in another tank at the moment. Will have a go at that one tomorrow, although when I have recoiled OCC heads with Kanthal in the past, they have outperformed the RBA decks.
It's all very confusing, therefore, more red wine required.
