Just received this bit of kit and am wondering if the display is running correctly, compared to the subbox mini i have the screen is rather dim, is this standard,

Yes mate, the i-stick has a slightly smokey display and the subbox has a clear screen

It's not the brightest of screens. Certainly dimmer than my 30w I'm guessing it has a smoked sheet of plastic in front of it..

I dont have one myself but it could just simply be a case of a slight tint to the protective lens, i have a couple of mods with such screen protectors some even with a slight mirror finish too makes em impossible to read in direct sunlight, 1st time i took my istick 50 out n about i thought it was bust as the display was invisible in direct sunlight..
