DiscoDes a fet is just a small relay so the switch dont have to handle the power to the atty so you can use pretty switches

If I was buying this, I would be getting rid of that hotglue around the FET and fitting one of these or similar.

It fixes the FET to the case. But it leaves a screw head on the outside of the mod. Smooth the edges off the screw and a quick dab of black paint to finish the screw head off and it would be fine . A much safer option. I have visions of the current hotglue melting, could be wrong though.

They are both Field Effect Transistors, when using as switches the transistor is either off (path is open-circuit) or overloaded turning the path into a short-circuit.
