Same as early kanger heads, pull the metal pin from the bottom, remove the silicon seal
Unscrew the top from the attie and that's it.

Simple as simple can be- which means that you will screw it up immediately

I'll certainly give it my best shot............................

Dismantled one of the heads & re-built it.........Job jobbed blakey............

The rebuildable CLR heads work an absolute treat in the e-grip, so much so that the e-grips are my mod of choice for taking away on hols

I use an M3 screw and make 7 wraps of .3 kanthal around it for a 1.4ohm coil- the inner diameter of the screw between the threads is 2.5mm.
Then I remove from the screw and insert a 2.5mm rod when fitting to the attie. Perfect coils every time.

Just to verify blakey , the CL base & CLR heads won't fit in the original e-grip will they?

yep, as long as you have the correct base.

Heres 1 I bodged earlier.
Standard egrip coil on left my attempt a putting an up right CL coil on the right.
Pretty much the same height so the correct basses should be a straight fit.

yeah, but if you look inside where the base/head screws into the mod, the tube that they butt up to in both the e-grip & the e-grip OLED are different. The original e-grip has a lip on the tube, which prevents the CLR head (with silicone top gromit) tightening up to it. When I've tried screwing the CL base & CLR head into the old e-grip, it won't fit phtumshk

When I bodged my 1 I couldnt drill the hole out any more because of the thicker O ring groove.
in the correct basses they have 2 thinner O rings at the top I sumise so the wider flange will go into a wider gap in the base if that makes sense.

Ah, to me that says you cant put CS heads in the CL base and vice versa? But not that you can put CL base/heads into the CS egrip.
Im still cautiously optimistic they will work with the CL base in the CS egrip.
Fingers crossed they turn up tomorrow, my latest track and trace has our CL bases at the dispatch depot in Brum ready for delivery.
Ill try 1 as soon as I get em and let you know the outcome.

Will take the original base & non-rebuildable heads.
Will take the original e-grip rebuildable base.
Will take the new CS heads & CS base.

E-grip OLED CL
Will take supplied CL base.
Will take CL non-rebuildable heads in CL base.
Will take CLR rebuildable heads in CL base.
* Both CL non-rebuildable heads & CLR heads need the silicone gromit on top of the head.


I'm sure that's correct.

Yeah, but the CL base won't take the CS or orignal heads. The threading is different on both.

I cant find anything conclusive on the web other than a maybe on an australian site but Im pretty sure the CL coil/base combo will go in the original and CS oled egrip.

Found this bad boy whilst looking, check out the size of theses coil heads.

I've tried putting the CL base with a CLR head into the original e-grip mod & it won't screw home fully.......That's with the silicone cap on.......
