well peeps know I got a 'new' hifi the other day and one huge plus is that it has MW So many times my FM signal on my 'old' system cut out (modern antenna is serious pants and no where to plug a decent £2 ebay one in). Today FM (radio scotland) didn't sound fab - I bunged on MW - sanity So they're talking about DAB and I'm like - I have no time for digital when it's already 20 years out of date and expensive! I'm liking my MW signal - a lot Anyone similar?

Have to disagree @johanino, DAB is superb quality, loads of stations that only appear there and not often affected by weather. An adequate radio is about 30 pounds.I mainly listen to radio five live and sports extra (for the cricket)infinitely better than the reception I get on medium wave.

It's ok in a few places but still? Can you get good DAB reception where you are? I've not had DAB for over a year. Not missing it

I have a DAB radio in the car it it cuts out on occasion. I have to say I have some sympathy with @johanino I quite like the softness you get with AM/LW/MW. Having said that I do love my R4Extra Nick

Choice of stations on DAB is good, but quality wise FM seems better to me. But in a car, is quality that important anyway?

DAB is great if the signal is good but there are a couple of stations I listen to that haven't made it to DAB yet. It's tough finding a small radio that has both DAB and MW which is what i want.
