Seemed like the right area for this question.
Would like to make one of my tanks and massive cloud tank. Options are billow 2 lemo drop or cthulu.
Would also like to if possible increase flavour levels.
Still very new to wrapping coils and thickness etc. Have 3 wires 30 24 and one that says 23 ( @sysdsut ) but it's thinner than the 24. Anyways 30 is fiddly and nightmare to wrap. Generally I just stick with the 24 around a cotton bud stick or a slightly larger maybe 2.5 mm screwdriver.
Pls help. Maybe I need 1 tank for huge clouds the other 2 for a good balance between flavour and vapour

Try twisting two strands of the thinner wire together, easy to do I put a hook (eg allan key or tent peg in the drill chuck), cut twice the length you want and twist the ends together and tie or clamp to something solid (eg wall shelf, vice), hook the middle with the drill, pull straight (not too hard) and press the button, if it wants to buckle as you release the tension reverse the drill a for a bit. You don't have to use a drill chykensa ties them to a sauce pan handle and spins that.

You won't get massive clouds from a Lemo Drop. The Billow has had fantastic reviews, as has the Cthulhu. I haven't tried either. Make sure to use a calculator like Steam Engine to calculate how to wrap your coils and as VapingBad said, any wire that's too thin to use, you can twist to decrease the resistance. What mod are you going to be using your tank on?

Twisted perks up the flavour as well IMO.

already been said but twisted wire increases flavour, twisted, tiger wire or clapton wire even better as an added bonus it also increases vapor production.

I've got a billow v2 and I like it so much I've got another on the way, but the deck is quite small given its dual coiled. I find 9 wraps on a 2.5mm bit with .35 kanthal just about as much as I can fit in, great vape though. My Lemo (v2.) is single coil, about 7 wraps of 0.4mm kanthal fits nicely and a great vape. Haven't actually coiled the chutlu or whatever it's called yet, but the secret is evidently to get the juice channels just capped off with wick else it'll flood like Gwyneth Paltrow at the oscars. Keep with them atties, there's no sellers there, they're all good'ns, just practice practice practice.

I usually use either 24 or 26 gauge in those tanks that's 0.5 or 04mm in English, 6 wraps is usually about right in the Lemo or 8 wraps per coil in the Cthulhu on a 2.5mm mandrel. Both are good for flavour and produce a decent amount of vapour for a tank but if you really want big clouds and flavour you can't beat a dripper IMO. Plenty of good cheap clones about. www.boldvape.co.uk/home/181-13-heavens-9-hells-rda-clone.html#/color-silver

You don't have to use a drill chykensa ties them to a sauce pan handle and spins that. I most certainly do - takes about 30 seconds from start to finish, and perfectly twisted wire as a result. Forget going out to the garage for a drill, oops, battery's flat, charge for 20 mins, can't find an Allen Key, now can't find the pliers for the other end, by which time I'm sat watching the TV with a lovely warm vaporous cloud of custard billowing from my freshly coiled atomiser. Pah, who needs technology when you've got a saucepan

Was recently gifted a dripper a ud igo. It's nice. Good flavour and vapour. But geneeally find i need a tank as im mostly in the car or at pc in my house so dripping can be awkward. Using a kangertech kbox mini 50 watt. poochops I wired the billow today. Came out at .4 if I remember right. Anyways no matter how I seemed to wick it the coil area must have been flooding as I kept getting alot of hot juice getting in my mouth. Been using the lemo drop today at .8 but it seems to struggle with higher vgs. Nice taste but not great vapour imo

I twist mine with a pen and my leg. No pliers, drills, saucepans(????), etc. Just hook through the pocket clip and roll on your leg while holding the stray ends taut. I watch TV while I'm doing it chykensa

So better ro have close coils or spaced coils? Multiple wraps or fewer wraps? Thicker wire is lower resistance right? Also from what I read the resistance is based in wire length not coils etc? So why does ohm reading change when you move coils around I get lost with it all to be honest

More surface area = more flavour peter12 Moving the coil shouldn't make any difference if it is screwed in tight. Edit: open or touching coils is about space, open is better IMO. Edit 2: Thinner wire gives more contact area. But you need to consider what ohms you are aiming at.

No idea what ohms do what or what I like yet. There must surely be a concensus on a set up of what gives best favour or vapour but doesn't drink the juice.
Vaping been around for a while now. Whilst flavour is relative etc and different ppl use different ohms (I guess because they found a lvl of ohms that uses an amount of juice per day they can live with) thereus surely be guidelines ?
Thinner wire gives more contact area buy is higher resistance right? So would get less wraps there for provably similar total surface area coverage as thicker wire?

Not a hard and fast rule but i usually use spaced coils in tanks and touching coils in drippers, spaced coils let the juice wick easier so that's why i use them in tanks to prevent the wick getting choked off. Drippers not a big issue as you're directly applying juice to the coil and wick anyway.

Also from what I read the resistance is based in wire length not coils etc? So why does ohm reading change when you move coils around I get lost with it all to be honest I think you may be getting confused with another thread on the forum recently which was talking about NR-R-NR coils pre-made in China. No Resistance - Resistance - No Resistance coils are not dependent on the wire length because the NR part obviously doesn't affect the ohm-age. When you are coiling using Kanthal, for example, you are right in thinking that the larger the diameter of the wire, the lower the resistance. Think garden hose; the larger the internal diameter, the more water flows, and vice versa. If I were coiling a similar tank (I use Goblins, which take dual coils), I would aim to have a .8 coil, which IIRC is about 6 wraps of .4 Kanthal, and would fire it at around 25w. Hope this helps!
