Hello, everyone- I'm feeling a bit lost at sea over vaping already...and I've really only been at it a week! I tried having a look at the tutorials, but am still confused. Firstly, I think I should explain...I am a complete technophobe, unfortunately. This might be because I have dyscalculia, which is a type of numerical dyslexia...it relates to numbers, and symbols. So, if I have to ready anything with quite a few numbers or symbols, (or even appreviations) in it, it's virtually unreadable- it all gets a bit scrambled in my head. So, all the info about liquids and percentages and whatnot is a nightmare. (I have to look at my bottle of liquid EVERY time if I want to know what it's percentage is... I have a lot of trouble retaining numbers in my head.) Add to this my inability to relate to gadgets, and you have someone who can't figure out one end of the ecig from another. (I have the One Kit from the Ecig Store) which I got because it was supposed to be simple and easy to use. I've tried reading the manual, but it's a bit vague... the man in the shop recommended that I wash it? (surely not the battery part!) and what with? Just water? Washing up liquid??? It also says I might need to replace the clearomiser maybe every FEW DAYS...or it might last up to a few weeks?? What, the WHOLE THING?? I simply can't afford that. And I think, (from what I can remember the guy in the shop saying) there is something else I'm supposed to replace, (the automiser?) but I can't find that in the instructions. Is a tank the same thing as the clearomiser? Sorry for all the questions, but this morning I am really missing the lovely simplicity of my papers and tobacco. The best analogy I can use to describe it, is that I'm not a very capable cook. So, imagine if the only way I could cook something was to use a very complicated microwave.. which I first had to put together. I just wouldn't do it... I would get a takeaway, even if I knew it was bad for me. I hope I can find a simple way to do this, because I don't really want to go back to smoking.... help!

First off, welcome Second off, baby steps! I've not had the One kit but no, don't immerse the battery (main tube) in liquid. Wash the top clear bit (tank/clearomiser) in plain hot water and leave to air dry then reuse. Might be best getting some spares in so you have one to hand when needed. You'll get plenty of help and tips on here. Its a bit daunting when first starting but like I said, baby steps. Won't take you long to get to grips with this vaping lark! Well done on your week don't give up giving up

Hiya, aaaaand breathe don't panic, all ecigs have basically 3 parts, a battery, a tank and inside the eliquid tank is a coil. Its the coil that will need swapping out regularly (it is used up when it tastes smoky and burnt) The tank part you can wash out if you were swapping eliquid flavour. In general its simple to vape - in that you top up eliquid in teh tank reservoir and occasionally you unscrew coil and fit a new one, and then you plug in and charge battery regularly Everything else you can learn at your own pace we are all on hand to talk you through any glitches. Welcome to AAEC on your 1st steps to quitting ciggies

hey, i had a look and i think with your kit, the battery is the same as this: Just unscrew that from the part at the top also known as the clearomiser or atomiser or tank, same things pretty much, then just wash the inside of the clearomiser, keep the battery dry! heh this is how to unscrew and fill the clearomiser to clean it just unscrew it and then can rinse with water as long as theres no smell of anything inside but usually there isn't. So at the step when it says to fill with eliquid just rinse that part with water then using a kitchen towel to try n dry the inside a bit and outside and for the inner tube you could blow the water out into a towel and itll then b ready to fill with liquid and put together then finally to screw back onto the battery. I would avoid washing the coil assembly though as thats a self contained unit pretty much and harder to dry the inside. The battery section can last for years in theory, the clearomiser may last ages, its just the coil assembly part that can sometimes last a few days to weeks and can sometimes need replacing.

Did you just get one tank with it? If so, I would invest in some others plus another battery. One to charge, one to use. Just get used to what you have and enjoy it before moving up a step or two. Anything you don't understand or are uncertain about, please don't hesitate to ask, no matter how simple the solution. No question is too silly and there is always someone here who knows how to help

Greetings and to AAEC tipsyturtle Well done on starting out on the vaping path. just to clarify a couple of things, the part that needs changing is the Clearomiser section ( the part you put your juice into) linkCheap enough if you get your stuff online, but a better option would be to get some replacements that permit you to simply replace the coil/wick section. ( not difficult, it just unscrews and a new one screws in.) Look here here linkFeel free if you need any other help, and remember we all had to start sometime. On this forum there is no such thing as a silly question.

Tipsy! the only advice I can give for your situation is to find a good vape shop near you and talk to them, it's much easier if someone explains and shows you in person, if you put your location I'm sure these guys here will be able to tell you a good shop near you, or if there's a member near you they may even meet up with and show you how to do it all, the only bit you need to clean is the tank/clearomiser and if it has the disposable coils you just need to change it now and then, it really isn't a hard to get to grips with as you think, but if your anything like me I can read something a hundred times and not get it, but show me just once how to do it and I'm fine, so don't go back to the stinkies once you get to grips with things you won't look back, if you look at the little box at the bottom of my post you'll see I stopped the stinkies 15 months ago and have saved over £4.500 and my health has improved 200%, and I havn't even spent £500 for all my changes of kit and juice in that time,,,

tipsyturtleIf you put your location in your profile there may be a Vapemeet local to you or an AAEC member nearby. If you are worried about 'Internet Weirdos' just put in an area or region. It's so much easier when someone shows you and you can familiarise yourself with the kit & jargon.

Thanks so much for all the encouragement and advice! I feel a bit silly for finding it all a bit daunting, but I do intend to persevere, (have to- just ordered some maple-flavoured liquid!) I probably need to order some more of the atomisers, then... but they seem to be two different strengths, and I'm not sure which to get... the ecig store that my kit comes from seems to be out, but this place has them. www.aromavapes.co.uk/the-one-kit-coils-5-pack-c2x17330925They want me to choose between 1.8 or 2.1 ohm....my battery is 650, but I don't know how to decide which is the right one. I think the tip about finding someone to show me how to do things is good... I also grasp things easier if I'm shown, and can ask questions there and then!

For some reason i can't copy and paste at the moment. If you look at the vapefest other meets board you will see there is a London and southeast meet on the 12 September plenty of members there to help and advise tipsyturtle
