I now run a ford kuga, ok yes its not a "proper" 4x4 like a series 2 landy but if you want a comfy long distance motor with that ability to tow i find it very good. Mine is the 168 bhp 2.0lr derv and its got plenty of get up and go and still returning on average 42mpg, THB i have never been a ford fan but i have to admit i really enjoy driving this thing. Its only part time 4x4 (haldex system) so your only using the 4x4 when its needed so less stress on other parts.

I have another car for long distance comfort Im wanting a snow mobile as I'm in the sticks plus a runaround for my good lady when it's not snowing. I also have an L200 at present which is great when it snows and great for tip runs but the Mrs hates it, too high and it drives like a pram, it also sits on the drive for 360 days of the year and I begrudge the £245 tax plus insurance. The Dacia is only £130 tax and should get a lot more use if it's wife friendly.

I see your point mine is also the 130 a yr tax so nice bonus, we had the l200 for work and TBH found it a bit lacking for grip in the ice or mud unless you put some weight in the back. We are lucky down here if we get 1/2" of snow everybody panics not sure what most would do if they ever saw real snow . I think the Dacia could be a good option for what you need by the sounds of it, they do seem to have a good reputation.

My reasons for buying the Dacia is that I have a 7 year warranty with it. I tow a caravan with it. It has the 4 wheel drive option if I need it, but I would only need that to tow my trailer or my caravan out of a muddy field or in snow. It is cheap to own and comfortable to drive. And the biggest reason was that I could choose the options I wanted and I wasn't paying for options I didn't want.
I have only had to use the 4wh drive on one occasion in the last 2 years.
I too live out in the sticks and so depend on a vehicle to get me places when other transport cannot get through.

Whilst I am sure that there are many other cars around with 4wh drive that are better than the Dacia Duster, another reason that I wanted the Dacia was that I wanted a NEW car. I have, in the past, driven many cars, vans and lorries, but never owned a New one. Just the idea of me choosing the accessories that I wanted for My needs and having the money, thanks to vaping, to be able to afford it, well the choice of the Dacia was a forgone conclusion. I doubt if there is any other car on the market that will give you what it does at that price.
It may not be thee most luxurious car around, but it does have some points that you will not find on cars that are considerably pricier.

You will not regret it!!!!
Of all the cars I have ever owned, the Duster is the only one that if it was ever written off, I would want an exact replacement.

So far so Good mate, I took it for a quick test drive yesterday but my wife drive it home. Had it out and about today and I have to say it drives like a dream, I was quite surprised how nippy it is for a 1.5. mats and boot liner oredered and I'm now eyeing up the OEM reverse camera to tap into the media nav screen
