Is this a good price for a 2G tv box?

One of these link is what ive been using, bargain, excellent for kodi / showbox etc, dont need one for gaming personally

Get ages from the battery with normal use, only downside is the keys arent backlit, as I like watching tv with the lights down.

Been using one of those keyboards for a couple of years now, but I tend to prefer a wireless mouse & the onboard Kodi keyboard.

how does it deal with premium services like netflix or the amazon offering?

my older Quad processor box with a similar look is pants with the premium services, netflix is unwatchable..  a brief google on the subject led me to an interweb bulshite explaination of a difference between h/w and s/w decoding??  premium boxes use a dedicated h/w chip to decode while cheaper far east boxes utilise a s/w decoding???

I`m not using Netflix, but it`s great on Genesis. I know nothing about the hardware/software decoding part of the box, all I can say is the picture is crisp and clear and no buffering on my box.

I've never had any buffering when watching movies................Watching sport, however, is a different tin of tomatoes altogether............I nearly lobbed the box out of the window during Sundays Grand Prix.........but, it's unavoidable if the streams are overloaded & besides....it is all free afterall..........Like vaping, it's advisable to have as many add-ons as possible for back ups, because there's bound to be one that is working better than the others.........Apart from add-ons, Mobdro is a good back up too (available in the Play Store )

For Sports it's got to be Acestream all the way for me, start it up 15 minutes before the footy or the F1 starts then wind Aceplayer back so you have 15 minuts or so buffer and then if you're watching a Sky streamed channel you can skip through the adverts too.

Oh, and the Acestreams are often HD Quality

Yea, mate who works in IT recommended it so I assume it's a good one? He is coming round tomorrow to help me set up, not an expert on these things to be honest.

I have the v2 and it works flawlessly still.

I know that droidsticks had to curb in alot of his activities regarding selling the boxes "fully loaded" because Trading standards were breathing down his neck, not sure if he still includes a "wizard" inside kodi that sets it up for you but its straight forward if he does.

If you want to pm me for a mobile number ill give you some pointers, if not im sure your mate will be just the ticket

I got my mxIII-G and had a play about with it today.
Couple of niggly things like the play store has Kodi 15.2 and my box is Kodi 14 something but only options are uninstall and open, no update option.
Okay I could sideload the new version or try uninstalling then installing again but ......
Apart from that a lot of the streams on genesis are unavailable, tried about 15 on the list before one played .....
Wouldn't bother me as I would keep trying them till I get a working one but I bought the box for my completely tech useless girlfriend.

Still, tomorrow is another day and I'm going to try a custom build on it (Andy's Build 5.2) and we'll see how that goes.
I've picked that as the interface (skin) looks good and easy to navigate, and also the adult content is disabled by default as her 10 year old son and 5 year old niece are going to have access to it.

Thanks mate,yes my old was set up, but you're right this one has nought on it so I'll see how I get on tomorrow.

Got a friend I visit everynow and then in walthamstow so worst case I'll pop in and see if droids will do it....!

My Kodi is v14.1 Helix, not able to update to the latest version from the Play store either, 14.1 works well but I read that Kodi v15.1 (latest is 15.2) has quite a few bugs, although they may or may not of fixed them for v15.2.

Another thing I found out yesterday is that you are not able to move any apps to the SD card on the MXIII, I tried a few 'Apps2SD' apps and had no option to move apps to SD card! Apparently developers have the option of disabling this from Android 2.2 upwards so looks like they disabled this on the MXIII and i'm running out of space quickly

I did hit one brick wall, I get a message keep appearing on the screen 'Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped' everytime I plug my new wireless controller or try to connect my PS3 controller and have to reboot the machine for the message to disappear

Luckily I found out my wireless Xbox controller for the PC works but I don't have much room for big games and their huge file download sizes
