Curious what ppl find is the best for sub ohm. Wire guage Coil design (twisted, parallel, clapton etc ) Space between coils? Dual or single coil Final resistance reading. Preferred for flavour or clouds

VapingBad yoo hooo !!! www.steam-engine.org/coil.aspuse the above tool and get everything in the green and see for yourself.. afaik the more elaborate twists, claptons etc will capture juice in their 'folds' for a better experience..

I like steel rope as it heats with the liquid in it, ribbon wire give a large contact area and sleeper coiling keeps the legs short and gives a good connection. My pet theory is it give you so much flavour is that just like claptons etc the liquid is in the metal that get hot and there is even more metal here. Ni200 vaping at 40 W, 100 W pre-heat, 399 F. ETA 0.065 ohm

I can't be doing with all this messing about with claptons and twisted stuff. To much messing about.
2 of my favourite builds.
0.8mm kanthal. 5 wrap on a 2mm bit. Dual coils. 1.2ohm. great clouds, great flavour. My favourite build. 0.64mm nichrome. 4 wrap on a 2mm bit. Dual parallel coils. 0.08ohm. Immense clouds, good flavour.
No spaces between coils.

LOL Pete, VB must have a permanent lazy 'one' on with his skills.
Fair play to him though, because I really enjoy his posts and write ups .
Rumour has it, when VB is experimenting, at best the street lights go off in his street otherwise its a complete blackout !!

Personally the best flavour if I'm going for big clouds I've had so far was using a staggered fused clapton in a twisted messes rda , I think that standard claptons a good but nothing compared too the staggered fused in my TM... Although quad claptons in a velocity is a good one too.. I haven't really tested for flavour with different builds back too back, just try different builds untill I find the right one for the atomiser. Im very temped to get some new goodies and try VapingBad 's fav out though.

With my current device istick 30watts ( yeh yeh I know only 30watts), I either build a single 0.8 twisted macro coil or a 0.7ohm twisted micro coil .
I find both very satisfying .

The istick is a good device imo due to size. Downside is battery life for me. And I love those .8 macro coils on a lemo drop. Great flavour

I find both very satisfying . to be honest my most satisfying sub-ohm build is from a derringer copy on a 20w mod, I use a 2.5mm i/d 28g 0.9 ohm coil at 12-15w. Taking cool flavour filled pulls from this makes squeezing claptons and twists into a bigger dripper seem like a lot of hard work. My ADV has been on a subtank rba, twisted kanthal ( 0.45, 0.30, 0.25, 0.20mm) 0.6 ohm at 22-25w, slow ramp up plenty of time for a cool hit and its so tough it can be rewicked over and over.

Call me lazy, but the 26g 32g pre-wound UD Clapton Wire, 2.5mm ID, 5 wraps, dual coil, 0.3ohms is perfect for me. Loads of flavour, but a real juice guzzler at 90 watts... thank god for home brew juice
