WTD Broken clearo's

Hi all,

Looking for any broken/unwanted CE2 clearo's if you have any lying around. I want them to strip for parts, thanks!

Hi Lee,fear not mate im saving the ceramic cups up.I have sripped a few old ones and will keep them for you.I only have two so far so will keep saving and post them you.Edit to add,i will buy an i-atty but will also save the clearo cups up for others on here who require them.I agree with highvoltage,i cant see you needing a new ceramic very often tbh.

I cant imagine you needing many ceramic cups if any spares at all unless you drop them from a great height .

Thanks Ian and highvoltage. I wasn't sure how long they lasted, I'm just planning ahead so once I have all my bits and bobs I won't have to shell out for anything else.

Is that right, that you need the ceramic cup out of a clearo for the iAtty? That's a little poor isn't it?

Tim i am sure they come with one fitted i think Lee is just wanting some spares .

I don't doubt that they will come with one fitted.... the fact though, that you've got to rely on the humble clearo for spares though is a bit much, considering the price that the iAtty will be. I don't have to butcher other mods to rewire my Bullis... I just think that this is a fundamental design flaw, and hope that it is a reliance that is removed in the second revision.

I'm sure it will be fixed in future versions. I understand your point about having to take parts from another device. I think it was a quick fix by Imeo, he said the cost of a custom part would be too expensive. Hopefully the iAtty 2 will have addressed this problem.

The problem with quick fixes is that they are the ones that come back to bite you... considering the amount of R&D that would have to have been spent on the iAtty in the first place, to ultimately rely on a part that is too expensive to manufacture is a fundamental design flaw, and a design revision should have been called for at that stage.

Don't think for a moment that I won't get one, because I will... I just feel that it would have been far better if Imeo had negotiated with Royal Smokers for them to be able to supply the ceramic cups as a part supplier....
