I was like this a minute ago when i checked my emails so sorry to see you are closing down, got my first 'proper' big mod from you my lovely shiney lava-tube and I even crossed the border to visit your shop a couple of times wishing you all the best for the future.

I'm doing my best with the site and hope that some of you are getting orders through.

It's a case of making it live and then taking it back into maintenance mode just before it crashes.

As soon as I make it live the number of registers users online goes through the roof (over 1000) - does nobody ever sleep

I then have to take it down and wait for that figure to drop below 200 before I can put it back up again.

It's the only thing I can do until we get something better sorted and hopefully should be up more frequently as the night goes on.

I'm willing to bet if sales were like that over the last 6 months you wouldn't be closing down?

Surprisingly, we would yes

There are several reasons why we made the decision to close and sales is a very minor one to be honest.

Nothing sinister though, so don't read anything negative into it - just decided we didn't fancy another Christmas of postal delays, long hours, lack of alcohol etc

5 years is a very long time in this business

I'm waiting for the load to drop and I'll give it another airing (probably 1/2 hour or so)

If we can't improve things tomorrow we will take it offline, move servers and then restart the Closing Down Sale.

At this rate the closing down sale will take longer to finish than the 5 years we've been in business
