Funnily enough . . . . I had a lady and gent return two of our little pre-packed cakes yesterday, Coffee & Walnut flavour - they were adamant that all they tasted was Ginger and were convinced they'd been packaged incorrectly. No ginger listed on the ingredients as I checked. Anyhow, they insisted I try one to prove their point - never one to duck a taste challenge, I did. All I got was Coffee & Walnut - not the merest trace of Ginger to me. So yes, I do think taste is subjective, at times.

It's similar to colours. There's no way to know if we all look at a fire engine we are seeing the same colour of red.......... without us all picking the same thing from a colour chart. Fire engines are red? In all seriousness that's very true. Colour taste and in my line of business hearing is all subjective. Slight variations will always be present. That's what makes us all different I gave my brother a bottle of G2 reserve recently and a few weeks later he suggested a get a bottle of Charlie noble on the basis that they were very similar. Truth is they are totally different and the Charlie noble is now sat in a drawer waiting for me to throw at him :-)

Not quite on topic, but I do find that say a caramel toffee for instance will be nice in my Nautilus, but in my iSub the .5 coil makes it a bit harsh on my throat, even dropping the watts down a bit from 20W, so for me I have to be a bit careful of what juice I vape in it. Custard flavours seem to work in the Nautilus and iSub/Atlantis 1 + 2, so I am happy with that.

I watched a documentary quiete a while back now about taste and I can't for the life of remember who it was by. I'm a bit geeky and watch all sorts of mundane things. Anyway, from what I remember taste is a subjective thing. I remember something about really spicy food and certain people being super tasters which applied to me somewhat. I can eat what some people would regard as ridiculously hot and spicy food but I can pick flavours and the different spices up while eating it. The next person might well run for a tray of ice cubes, they can't taste anything and all they get is the burn. So I would say it's down to an individual's taste buds and how the brain interpretates the messages they send.
