I assume you know how to paint physically too so, Have you thought about doing a PV custom paint shop in the same sort of mode as custom bike/car shops? Customers send you their device and you consult with them and paint the device up for them (carefully laquering/varnishing the surface to stop it getting worn off) with a lovely design they will cherish forever. Just an idea as you are very good. A good idea but I'm not set up to offer this kind of thing. I'm not experienced in laquering and all that sort of stuff. I wouldn't want to ruin someone's pride and joy.

Lacquer and varnish are easy - they just spray or brush on to hardcoat the paint underneath and stop it wearing. As for not wanting to ruin somebodies pride and joy you start with your own and then get willing volunteers. At the end of the day a paint or lacquer can be removed easily enough with solvents that won't damage the mod/PV itself. You can maybe get inkjet transfers and print designs which can then be glued on and lacquered over instead of "live" painting. Then people discuss ideas with you and give you dimensions and you post the transfer to them with instructions on how to apply it (and remove if necessary) - but I've done transfers and a blind monkey can do it (or a thick flatmate I once had). A good motto I try and use is - "You don't know until you try." I just built my first mod after much umming and ahhing over whether to do so and I am considering going smallscale with manufacture of mods now.

If you want to do a trade I could design transfers for you to apply.

I was thinking about just that sort of thing. Don't need anything quite yet though, but hopefully some time soon a little logo for me to put on my mods might need some designing. I'll keep in touch and let you know if I need anything.

Lee has just sent me the rough sketch for the logo I've asked for... I have to say, he is a real talent! So far, he has captured my PM'd ramblings perfectly and is well on the way to what I wanted. Many thanks Lee. Sean

Thanks again everyone, nice to see Imeo recognized his work of art on Hifi's avatar Perpy. Thanks for the lovely write up. Trying my best to keep up with demand! I have about nine on the go at the moment.
