My velocity has dual 13 wrap .30 nickel coils in it. Been using the build on custard flavours for about a week now and the cotton and coils were starting to look a bit manky, the nickel had a brown deposit over the wire, although the taste was still OK.
So I teased the cotton out and tried it in the ultrasonic cleaner for 10 mins, and they came out beautifully. Not shiny like new, but not far off. Just rewicked them and it's good to go.
Normally I would have just re-coiled, but even on the velocity it's a bit of a pain to get the connections just right, so really pleased to have found this.
Anyone else clean their Ni200 coils?

Anyone else clean their Ni200 coils? Nope, I just change them out. Too easy to mis-shape the coil when messing about with it

Yes, I sometimes boil (water soaked wick and fire the mod), sometimes steam clean (hand held steam cleaner, the only thing it is good for) & sometimes in the Ultrasonic. I only throw them when the nickel starts to degraded, get brittle and the resistance raises.
