Not voted, as I burn tested the eVic VT, then got a Smok M80 plus (cheap) which I know doesn't work, and now have 2 eVic mini's which do. So I'm not sure if I would bother or not. If I get round to affording an eVolve TC, they are already tested as good. Don't like the Yihi chips, as I don't really understand why they use Joules and too lazy to find out and do the maths Everyone puts down the Smok 80 and I really dont know why, My one is set at 450F on a 0.5 kanthal (stock) build, run the watts at 25w and I watch it control the watts, dropping to 16 then hovering around the 20, I get a perfect vape with it, it limits the temperature VERY well. I had my doubts when I first bought it (9 months ago), but having now got another 4 'proper' TC mods I rate the 80 highly, especially as it only works on kanthal Try a dry cotton test, all will be revealed.

I don't burn test but have a habit after each new coil build of measuring its resistance on a cheapo resistance tester, like this one. Reason being if the DNA40 or other TC mod reads the resistance too high, it can send out the wrong power level for the coil, which can mean burning or cooking the juice. Case in point, a new coil he other day came in at .22 ohms on the Chinameter and the DNA40 it was popped on (Hcigar) read it at middle .3s. The fix in this case was to tighten up one of the earth bond screws inside the DNA40, after which the ohms reading came in much more sensibly.

As in, if you turn the watts up too hot, it burns the wick. If you use it as a TC mod, and you control the watts for the ohms build, it will work. But that is just a non TC mod anyway. It burns wicks. I've not bothered with a dry burn test, as I have burnt wet wicks with it

That's the thing... perhaps I've got a good one because I've never had a burnt hit, I set the temperature and once done I can wind the wattage right up, I've done it whilst watching the display and I get the initial full watts which immediately drops to a sensible level, it then hovers around that point. When I get around to building some coils again I'll try the dry cotton test but judging on how it's working for me at the moment I'm confident it'll pass
