Following on from @vapingbads pol on TC temps set I was wondering how mwny folk actually do wick singe/burn tests with their TC mods,
its something i keep meaning to do.. i blame my inability to coil nickel wire, or have done till now, but now have 50 precoiled nickel coils to play with so that excuse is wearing thin now..

Vape to taste/experience but do burnt cotton tests when I feel somethings out. Also wanna do one on the new evic mini just because I think from taste/experience that's going be quite accurate, so I voted "do you" ......!

Voted yes, but it is easy to tell by the flavour especially if you mainly vape one build and one flavour so I only do it is something is not right now days.

Not voted, as I burn tested the eVic VT, then got a Smok M80 plus (cheap) which I know doesn't work, and now have 2 eVic mini's which do. So I'm not sure if I would bother or not. If I get round to affording an eVolve TC, they are already tested as good. Don't like the Yihi chips, as I don't really understand why they use Joules and too lazy to find out and do the maths

I used to do the burn test regularly but now I just install the coil and the wick and assemble and vape. I adjust the temperature to suit the coil

So, are they are treating Joules the same as Watts VapingBad? Or are they calculating the energy over (an assumed) time?

It's guesswork, but I suppose it's close to accurate... nearly right........close enough?????!!!!!!!!

tim as far as i gather its all best guesses and extrapolated projections at work with TC/TL and perhaps the systems that dont work just have more error thrown into the mix due to less than perfect electrical connections and unsuitable thinner wires/build quality issues?? as the maths at work isnt that complex compared to say maintaining a coms data stream, so by the time the TC/TL algorithm has been coded and tested its probably spot on while the quality of the circuit that makes the coil hot has a number of weak links that i suspect are at the root of every TC mod that dosent quite get there. tho im just thinkin aloud ( as usual hehe)

Even had some that played up after being tightened, but were fine if I recoiled. Very user intensive, but fun anyway. If you have time to spare......

Like blakey I also carried it out with my first TC mods, but it just seems a faff now. I adjust for best flavour and sit back, relax and enjoy.

I had my doubts when I first bought it (9 months ago), but having now got another 4 'proper' TC mods I rate the 80 highly, especially as it only works on kanthal
