Font of AAEC on banner?

Anybody know or can work out what the font is of the letters AAEC on the forum logo?

Have already asked Chrissie but she is unsure so down to you lot to work out for me please.

nah......the C is all wrong.

This is closer....but still not quite right.

I have about 400 fonts on my machine and none of them match it exactly.

I got my fonts mixed up - I meant a modified version of Colt Black. But the "E" been hacked - the serif on the middle stem has been trimmed - and, as kreed points out, the "C" is completely different – it might be from a different font altogether...

Yep....that's definitely the one........with a different C .....and the E chopped a bit on the middle bar

You could try having a browse on 'Dafont' , it's got hundreds of fonts

It's definitely a bold Slab serif. The "c" is very distinctive and all the letters may have been stretched. I found this typeface which might yield a similar result: www.webtype.com/font/trilby-family/

I'm pretty certain it was a font used from "The Clarendon FS Family", most likely Clarendon Expanded Bold.
Who ever made the banner altered the top of the letter C (straightened the top) and also took a cut from the top left of the letter E and copied it to the letter A.
To test go to www.fontspring.com/fonts/fontsite/clarendon-fs and use the test drive option at the bottom, select Clarendon FS Expanded Bold and type AAEC.
