Hello On impulse I bought some DIY basics and thought it would be easy to just put the stuff into the Ejuice ME Up table and off I could go Alas Im not really sure what Im doing. I bought 500ml of 0.6% nicotine PG 70 VG 30, pre mixed with no flavour. Ive got 4 syringes from 10ml to 1ml and an 18g needle. Then 3 10ml bottles of flavourings, Maple, Strawberries & Cream and Blackcurrant. I thought having the 500ml pre mixed with nicotine would make this an easy way to start, but I think when it comes to using the table thats whats confusing me. I only have empty 100ml bottles, so I guess Ive got 5 attempts at this. I have tried reading the various DIY guides about, but I think I boobed by getting it pre mixed? Thanks for any help forthcoming

I'm not the smartest mixer and I'm sure others will chip in if I get it wrong but here goes
If you put 90ml of your nic mix in with a bottle of your concentrate you will end up with a 10% flavour which will maybe be a bit weak. and you will be left with 50ml of mix. If you put 40 ml of your nic mix in with a bottle of concentrate you will end up with a 20% flavour which I usually aim for and you will be left with 300ml of nic mix. Hope I've got this right and that it helps

Just hold fire happyloman you dont want to mix 100ml as your first attempt, 10ml will be more than enough to help you determine the mix ratios you like, pre-mix is ok but it is much cheaper to buy seperates and gives you more options. So just be patient, order some bottles, then we can go through the routine on the calculators (the one on here is brilliant) Try here for your bottles, postage is a little steep but the bottles & service are excellent

The forum calc allows you to put in the pg/vg and nic ratio in top box which would be your premixed base happyloman I also think you should not mix such a large volume to start with I usually only do 5ml testers to start. With the pre mixed base you have I would think about 5mg is the highest you can achieve.

If you mix at 10% concentrate (depends on which conc you use) you would end up with a nic content of 4mg

thanks for helping Ive got a 30ml bottle nearly finished, I will use it up and give it rinse and start from there, theres nothing on the flavour bottles stating the PG do I just assume that means its 100% ?

Yes . . . the vast majority of concentrates, flavouring is suspended in PG - unless otherwise stated happyloman. Use your 30ml bottle most certainly, just make up 10-15ml though as a practice run.

if mixing by shaking in the bottle, mix 1/2 the volume of the bottle you have at a time. you will need a good volume of air in the bottle to make a shake mix effective, if you fill a bottle and then shake you will be at iot all night and still may not mix sufficiently... so a 10ml bottle will be good for mixing say upto 60ml and a 30ml bottle will be good for mixing up 15-20ml.. you can always mix less enjoy...

Does this look right? When I press calculate it comes up "Enter 0 in Nic Strength mg and 0 in Nic Target mg For NO Nicotine" Ive entered 0 at Target Nicotine Strength because the 500ml has 0.6% already added.

Cheers, I had been thinking about leaving space for a wee shake about, but wasnt sure Im planning on just shaking it for a minute a day for about 2 weeks, for juices I have ordered requiring steeping thats what Ive always done. If this mixing works well Im thinking of trying the same mixture but using the Ultra Sonic Ive got to speed it up a bit

The calculation is fine happyloman . . . . whose flavours are they that you're using? If this mixing works well Im thinking of trying the same mixture but using the Ultra Sonic Ive got to speed it up a bit Don't bother as it doesn't . . . . mix and forget as there is no substitute for time and a little patience.

imho ultrasonic speed steeping is a fable, the home distilling world was hit with a similar fable regarding the maturing of spirits which has now thankfully been debunked and proven to be fantasy..
