what we should all be doing h'rumphh is cotton singe tests with out tc mods.. pop in a Ni or Ti coil and wick with cotton and fire the mod on the dry coil/wick at increasing temps until the cotton starts to brown n singe, providing you with the max temp to set for TC vaping.. (last temp that didnt singe) and what is the max temp for your mod/atty may well end up burning cotton with my mod same make model because its a best guess calculation and the active input is based on the electrical connection between the mod and atty and atty and coil and when your looking at micro resistance changes the quality of the electrical connections is pretty crucial.. your mod may well fire without singing cotton at 250C But it may not.. while nickel wire is a real pita to coil, (for me at least) you can buy precoiled/spaced coils in ni200 from fasttech etc.. if you just want the 1 or 2 pm me

phatfil I have been using the pre built coils I do have the RBA deck though but didn't know they did the wires already coiled like that! Instead of wasting the pre built ones would it be better testing on the RBA deck do you reckon? Cheers mate!

I think you have the temp set too high. Use it in fahrenheit and set it at 450 or less. I had a dry hit, (not burnt) at 400F on a subtank mini, but that was due to wicking. 460F is the burning point of cotton, which I imagine is used for the wick. I don't have a Uwell Crown. But I have 2 eVic mini's and an eVic VT60. All work fine.

You don't need to lock the res on the Evic Mini, that is a kludge for unstable connections and I would only ever use it if there was no other way to get it working consistently. I have loosely followed a 61 page thread on the Evic Mini on ECF and a few people are having problems, but not really this one, the common problem os a few units seems to be forgetting the base/cold resistance after coming out of sleep mode and getting a weak vape.

Was testing out my crown stock coils last night. Found that if I set the temp to 450 f or higher after a 1 or 2 second draw it gave a burnt taste (on the 0.15 coil) in the end I reduced the temp to what I feel is a much safer 390 f and had 0 issues.
