Was the political sub forum closed down ? Lol Lots of 'soap boxing' about the morals of purchasing clones ???? Think I'll No questioning about the pros and cons of clones from me. Clones are great as long as they work. My point was about clones that are described as OEM but are clones. I have bought my share of clones described as a clone, and on the whole they have been fine. You pay your money and take a chance with clones. I have no issue with that. My beef, it it can be described as that, is vendors selling purported OEM, but sending out clones. The list at the beginning of this thread listed vendors selling supposed Aspire fakes. Or at the very least not being authorised by Aspire to sell Aspire stuff. I agree that does not mean that all on the list are selling fakes. They may well be selling OEM products. Just not supplied by Aspire. This was just one list I found while surfing the web. Other manufacturers may put out similar lists. Or not. The Aspire list made me question what I was buying. In reality I don't buy that much Aspire stuff, but that wasn't the point.

The 'Copycat', 'Unauthorised' lists etc are absolutely worthless. The fact is that most UK Vendors no longer buy directly from the manufacturers because the wait is too long. They sell to China customers first (resellers), so you find yourself a good and reliable contact over there and buy from them - the result is a turnaround of less than 7 days for the exact same product that you would wait 6-8 weeks from the manufacturer. Of course there are dodgy resellers that promise the authentic product, knowing full well it isn't - but, that's up to you, as a business, to sort out and establish before you put them up for sale as genuine. We had a good relationship with Aspire, but they were just too slow, so we used a middleman and had the latest products in a fraction of the time - 100% genuine guaranteed (and as it happened, cheaper than we could get them from Aspire). So, don't read too much into the 'fake' lists
