+1 bought 200 pads ages ago although I do get the free muji pads from stealthvape when ordering wire and can't tell the difference in flavour. But I have never tried any of these vape specific companies that sell cotton as I can't justify paying the extra for something when what I'm using works for me

Well, call me old-skool (sic.), but I still use Superdrug Cotton Wool Balls, £1.99 for 200, and I must still have 160 left from purchasing over two years ago! I have tried Muji, rayon, and all sorts of other stuff, but still come back to the balls.

Tried the Muji cotton pads a few times, but always find I get better flavour from the juices with Grahams Celucotton rayon.

I'm a bit of a covert, this cotton bacon is really working great for me, was using the pads but decided to try the bacon and yeh, it's great. No break in, no fluffing up or anything, just shove it in, trim it and wet it, it just works perfect.

I agree , I've tried them all from wife's make up cotton balls , organic baby cotton pads , bamboo wick , Japanese cotton etc etc etc . Never really noticed a difference ( apart from bamboo wicks funky break flavour), but cotton bacon is most definitely noticeable on the flavour front , it's just really really damn good .

Sainsbury's value cotton roll. About £1.50 for more than all of us put together can use in a lifetime, so far after almost 2 years on cotton I seem to have made a little dent in it.
Flavour is more about your atty, mod, coil, density of wick in the coil, juice flow to the coil, juice flavour percentage, pg/vg mix, airflow, battery capacity and how drained it is, how hard you draw, if the juice is already warm or not, age of coil, if it is already gunked up from use.
After some years going from silica to bamboo then regular cheapo cotton, I'm pretty sure that some new trendy mentioned wick material is no better than any before it. Cotton is cotton. A new build will always taste better than what you are replacing. I'd like to see someone make an exact comparison build on two identical atties with the same juice on the same mods etc and be able to tell the difference.
Sorry this is very negative, but perhaps it's just best to get to a comfortable place for yourself than try to strive for something that some 'high profile' guys think is better. Forge your own way.

As I said on another thread. Trust your taste buds, if it tastes better then it is better.

I found with the regular cotton you mention it tastes odd at first then settles down but the cotton bacon doesn't, it just tastes great straight away. Also way better in the drippers down low, holds the juice better, you can vape it virtually white without the usual sort of sudden dry hit, more of a gradual thing so you get warning and there's no farting about making it all fluffy etc. I personally don't jump on the latest bandwagon, usually try stuff way after everyone else and make up my own mind, same with wire, wick, mods, atties etc. I don't think your post is particularly negative, make some really good points and I do actually agree with most of it, I think people should try it all and make up their own mind too.

When I have time I'm going set up two identical kayfuns running at 430f, one with organic, other with bacon. Watching the escribe graphs on the DNA200 will tell me what if either is using the most watts... ie. wicking better.

That wont really prove anything, we all know even the cheapy stuff wicks fine, it's more about how much juice it holds and the flavour, things like that set it apart.

It's not got to hold it, it's got to wick it and vaporise it, the quicker it can do that the chip will call for more power.
