If you go for an Istick, get the 40w from the Gearbest EU warehouse. Pointless messing about with a 30, when this is less than 20 quid. And more future proof.

Hello & welcome to the forum, Courier131 & well done on your decision to take up vaping, you won't regret it. Staying away from cig-a-likes & getting gear that works means you're going the right way about it & I'm in the Protank 2 (for simplicity in eventually making coils)/Mini Nautilus/iStick 30w camp, with liquid from 12 to 18mg. Don't stick with just tobacco flavour though, as, I think it's safe to say, more of us vape anything but. Good luck & ask away.

So what exactly is everything I need to order and so it's future proof? And I'm definitely not going for any tobacco flavours, probably fruity etc you need a mod or battery box (eleaf istick 30w is a good basic starter lets you manage the power you apply to a coil and should give you a days vaping on a single charge) an atomiser the nautilus is a good starter one, you will also need coils to exchange these are atomiser dependent.. and juice.. £1 per bottle juice from www.onepoundeliquid.com/ personally i like thier lemon sherbert juice, this will get you started and possibly keep you going till you (if you) quit vaping too?? so could be seen as future proof But.. the vape world is flooded with new kit on a daily basis almost, there are more mods on the market than anyone could ever use, and more atomiser options too.. some of us chase the bleeding edge (at a cost..) tho you dont need to, its all about what works for you..

Hi Courier131, Smoking V Vaping; Is it worth it? Well I dunno!!!!! Mainly thanks to the members on here, I ended up "squandering!!!" about 2k in my first 2 years although I have spent very little since. On the up side, I have saved about 17k since I stopped smoking! Oh there is not 17k or anything like it, sitting in my Bank Account. Instead there is a caravan sitting in my garage and 16 ton of top soil sitting in my revamped back garden. As for the Healthier Lifestyle that folks say I'm going to have by changing to Vaping. I say Rubbish!!!! I have blisters, back ache and wobbly legs from wheel-barrowing all the soil into the garden and sawing miles of wood planking. The trouble with vaping is that suddenly you have loadsa cash that you never had before and suddenly all those things and projects that you could never afford before, within a short time you can afford and all the energy that you didn't have when you smoked, is there just dying to get on and do something. There is always a downside to any new lifestyle. My local ciggy shop is now heading for bankruptcy and my local builders merchant is planning a holiday in the Bahamas instead of Blackpool. Smoking V Vaping? I dunno!

Courier131 - hi and a warm welcome from me too! Well done on deciding to quit the stinkies, it will be a momentous decision. I would agree with the very good advice you have received here already, Mini Nautilus and something at around 30-40w Variable Wattage (VW) would give you at least one day of vaping between charges, and a really good flavour and vapour from your atomiser. I would just like to emphasise that it's not the nicotine that is the dangerous bit; unlike tobacco, which has unknown thousands of chemicals added to it to keep you addicted and heighten the addiction to it, e-juice contains just four ingredients, Nicotine, Propylene Glycol (PG - improves the flavour), Vegetable Glycerine (VG - increases the vapour produced and gives a slightly sweet taste), and of course the flavouring(s). Don't be put off if you seem to be using much more juice in the first few weeks as your body adjusts to the lack of other chemicals; this is quite normal, and you will soon know if you have overdone the nicotine as you will feel nauseous and might get a temporary headache. Lay off the vaping for half an hour and all will be fine again. PG and VG are both humectants, sucking moisture out of whatever they touch including the mucous membranes in your moth and throat; you will find that you will need to up your intake of liquids (water is best!) to counteract this. Please ask before you buy, if you haven't already, as we can point you in the right direction and help you get the best from your money. As someone above has said, we were all where you are at some point, and quite understand that all the new terminology and language takes some time to digest and learn. Ask questions, we really don't mind answering them, even if they have been answered before. Unlike other fora, you won't simply be told to "Google it!", and we will help as much as we can

I use a 20w Istick and a 5ml Nautilus and one charge and one fill will last me all day and half of the next day.
Perfect for out and about all day and with it on a lanyard, it's always there and ready whenever I want a quick sook.

When I started vaping it was with a £12 special offer kit for a "cig-a-like". With that kit, it took me a month to get off the fags completely and onto 100% vaping. However, by 2 weeks later, I had saved about £150. It was then that I made up my mind that no matter what, I would never spend more on vaping than half of what I had saved by not smoking. I then bought a decent (to me) vaping kit at £60. By only spending half of what I have saved, no one, especially SWMBO can have any complaints about what I buy vape wise and indeed she is over the moon about how little we are spending these days. Courier131, You buy what you think will suit you best, but do try to not spend more than you would have if you were still smoking. In the beginning, one of the best feelings of taking up vaping is feeling the extra cash in your pockets.

Welcome to the forum, and well done on making the move to vaping. That set up there is pretty advanced, straight into temp control mods and sub-ohming. Honestly I would take the advice of others here and go for a solid mid-range set up that is easy to use and will get you off the fags. Try it for a while and get used to vaping, it is different. You don't want to be fiddling around with all the variables that will face you using sub-ohm tanks, RBAs, temp controlled coils mixed with kanthal coils etc. I you like vaping and understand what you like go for your life, and come back here for as much help as you need. If you do go for the above set up you will need some temp-controlled coils. BTW I grew up in Kenley - long time ago. Nick PS I hated Dekang liquid, it almost put me off vaping, be prepared to try some different brands if they don't suit you.
