Hi all I have recently got an X Cube II and am having a few problems with the device recognising the correct resistance on the coils of the tanks I am attaching. For instance, I have just got a Subtank Mini with a .5ohm OCC head. Now, I would expect the resistance to vary a little bit, but 2.45 and then 1.37ohms is taking the mickey a bit!! Even if I remove and then re-attach the atomiser, prompting the "Is this a new coil? Y/N" screen, it still varies wildly, and rarely settles on the correct reading. I have already ruined one Kanger head because the resistance was way too high and I hadn't noticed, but would like to avoid this again. Can anyone please help? Is there something I should be doing but not? Is there an easy way to solve this problem? I love the mod, but am veering away from it at present because of this mis-reading thing! Your help, as ever, would be gratefully received! Andy

Have you tried a different attie chykensa , perhaps a dripper with a known build (one of your 'specials'), I think the problem could be your SubTank

I've only had my XCube2 for a matter of days but it seems to be working perfectly. Only time i've had bad ohms readings is when there's a bad connection between atty and mod but have had no such issues with the xbox as of yet.

It could be the subtank mini sprung connection not making proper contact with the coil head

Thanks for the replies folks - I should add that this doesn't just seem to be happening with the Subtank, but with all tanks on the X Cube I have checked all the obvious things like poor connections, heads tightened inside the tanks, clean contacts, etc., but it still happens. I might try to upgrade the software - will have to dig out the instructions and work out how to do this!

TallPaul70 - thanks for the link, successfully upgraded the software to .093 and the same thing is still happening! I'm now determined to find the source of this problem, and solve it; off to Mr. Google I think EDIT: Hmm, not much help there either. If I remove an atty two or three times, it seems to gradually reduce the resistance until it is within acceptable operational range, but surely it should be more accurate than this!? If I check the resistance on my Sigelei with the Subtank Plus for instance it says .65ohm (I'm using it with the RBA head, single coil Kanthal A1 with .4mm ID 3mm and IIRC 7 wraps). Replace it on the X Cube and it reads .78ohm! Now that's quite a difference, and sometimes it reads it at almost 2ohm - crazy stuff!!

I`ve got two Xcubes and never had that problem, 510 pin springing up and down okay?, maybe something layering on top of the 510 centre pin? maybe worth trying a little alcohol on a cotton bud and giving the top of the 510 centre pin a clean. Even a quick scrape across the top of the 510 with a small flat screwdriver. Apart from that there isn`t anything else you can do but send it back

Had exactly the same with mine with a dripper. Tightened all the post screws, cotton bud into the 510 and pushed the 510 spring up and down a few times just like robby said and it's been fine since.

Dont be worried about getting a bit too much alcohol down the 510, I know it`s a waste but it just might get to places other cleaners cant reach

Mine was and still is totally useless with Subtanks, tried all 5 and i always get issues with resistance, stick the same tank on the likes of the DNA200 and pull up the atty analyzer and its spot on.
My cure, run the Smok TFV4 or the Uwell Crown and all is well.

Hey ho, onwards and upwards
