Advice on making a squonker please.

What I'm thinking. It will be oval in cross section with the battery and squonk bottle next to each other and the chip behind them. Making it wider from side to side than the average squonker but shorter from end to end. The plan is to make it from a solid block in two halve and use a belt sander to hollow it out. I think it will be easier to make it in two halves rather than have a door. The half with the chip and battery holder will also have the top so no screws. and probably the bottom on the other half. It will be in two halves lengthwise, sort of like ( ).

Any ideas on the best way to attach the two halves? Any problems with the design. I have seen the squonker bits available from Svapiamo, is there anywhere else?

You could make them slide together maybe or use magnets? And modmaker sells just about everything you can think of..

I have never been able to get everything from them so only used them a few times, especially as they only do Fat Daddy 510s which I will not use (may have to for a Squonker unfortunately) and only recently stocked an Evolv board, always look at both MM and StealthVape.   EBay is good for silicone wire, magnets, screws, special tools etc.

What don't you like about fat daddy 510s may I ask? I wish evolv release their 510 soon..

Making it in 2 halves length ways will leave you with the split running through the center of where your 510 will be located.
you will more than likely need a flat ledge on the top to bolt it too.
just a thought.

What don't you like about fat daddy 510s may I ask? I wish evolv release their 510 soon..

Everything really starting from the design - ugly, too big especially the extension into the case, the spring is exposed to the heat from soldering and you need to de-solder to replace or tweak the spring and they could be better made the threads too week on the insulator and more easily broken.  They seem more prone to cause issues with temp limiting than VariTubes probably a weak spring, but some people get them to work.   Plus look at getting all the Squonk stuff from MM, you have to spend and extra £7 for tubbing and £5 for bottles, fair enough on the bottles, but and the extra £12 on a £4.50 connector.

I bet the Evolv connector will be $20-$30 and will be available this year, hopefully the cases to.
