spitting Kanger mini

sorry if there is already a thread - but could not find it

I absolutely love my kanger mini and nano - but the minis can be a bit temperamental and leak a bit, specially after being refilled - any ideas ? - thanks

I cant say ive noticed that, but try closing off the base airvent(s) before re-attaching? its common advice for top fill attys?

i tend to vape 60%+ VG juice, thinner juice with more PG may be more susceptible to leaking? but i would consider an occ coil that leaks close to the end of its current live and would put it aside for a rebuild.. theres a good vid in the tips n tricks section..

thanks phatfil - I do close the air vents before refilling - it's spitting a bit through the air vents while vaping as well

i have had a couple of duff coils where they leaked from day 1 (2 from the same pack of 5!!) i just exchanged them and have put them aside to recoil/wick, if a visual inspection reveals the cotton wick isnt obscuring both the side holes fully in the head? a pin could be used to try and manipulate it so it does?? it should dam off the flow of juice only allowing it in through wicking..

as long as you have coils with a visible seam/crack between the top cap, and body. 11mm spanners or similar can be used to twist/pull off the coil top, pliers can be used to pinch it back on too. tho there are good guides to walk you through the process penned by better authors than I

tbh unless your fitting vert coils there is no need to split the top cap/body

personally a seem to get better results with the none vert coils but they do spit a bit which is why i love the spit less,leek less and topfill apex isub(g sub big bro lol)

do you use the rba in the mini or is it just the standard coils that leek

also are they the vertical coils as these are supposed to spit a lot less

oww one last thing to check is the o ring on bottom of coil (poss cause of leeks)

Clivia what power are you vaping at and are you direct lung inhaling with them? Most people that come into or call the shop with leaky/spitty subtanks are using them at too low power and pulling too hard on them, mouth to lung so they are flooding the coil a bit.

I know plenty of people use them as MTL tanks, but IMHO they are not well suited to MTL as its far too easy to flood the coils

haven't tried them myself but others reported less spitting

the best way to tell is the coil body has no split

lairey I vape 1.2 ohm on about 11 watt - and I don't inhale directly into the lungs - even as a smoker - I inhaled first into the mouth

I absolutely love the vape experience with the kanger minis and nanos -
will try the rebuildable coils now as well - can I still make a micro coil or do I better space the wraps ?

tbh i got fed up with my sub tank spitting (thought i was drinking more than vapeing at times)and it now sits unloved after much playing around

if you can rebuild and have a box mod the ks clone from fasttech has been very well behaved and a surprisingly good vape

Most smokers do MTL Clivia.  DLI is a very different action to smoking IMHO... have you tried upping the power at all?  You might find with higher power, you will pull less hard and therefore give the coil more of a chance to vaporise the juice, rather than it flooding?

thanks lairey -as I wrote the actual vaping is great and smooth - have the airvent wide open and it's easy - I don't like too high as I don't like the vape too hot - with the sub ohm coil I vape on about 19 and I also found that with the same coils the nanos don't seem to spit

Clivia try upping the watts a bit, 15 watts isn't a hot vape, but I use the 1.2ohm coils at that level with no spitting. I use the smallest hole and mouth to lung, works on the stock coils and the rba base which I've microcoiled at 1ohm.
