Ewol - pardon me for not checking back through this thread, but what strength of juice are you using?
If you are running the .5ohm head at anything like 20w, you will be vapourising much more juice and this means you have to seriously lower the nic levels, otherwise you will get too much. Also, if your juice is fairly high in PG, this will also be taken into effect.
If you can, get another OCC head and play around with some higher VG juice, and at a lower strength than you were previously used to. The Subtanks are great bits of kit, and with our help I'm confident we can get you a satisfying and faff-free vape

I have some 50/50 and I also have one that's 'high VG'. The high VG juice actually seems worse for hurting my throat and it also doesn't taste very nice. (but that might just be the juice)

since you haven't been vaping for so long it could be that you need to close the air hole up stick to the higher res coil and lower wattage taking no more than 1 second puffs off it, one thing I did notice with the occ heads was once they got a slightly sour taste it meant the wick was damaged or burnt and nothing tasted good from it again, swapping coils and dropping the wattage back down a few clicks was the only fix (I used I think three coils to get through a tank of juice in the first one of the pair of subtanks I bought) but I bought a 2 packs of each resistance coil when I bought the subtanks but that was because after having 3 bad coils in a row with another atty I figured my luck was that bad I'd need them

Its what works for you, the subtanks can be pretty versatile..

That seems a bit..messy though.

Also from what I've been reading the kanger OCC heads really vary on quality. You might only get 2 heads working well out of a pack of five. That's not what I want. I want consistency. I want to be able to vape all day on something, change the head now and again and that's it. If that's not possible then I suppose I might as well stick with the chewing gum and the irritable bowel.

If there is something out there with that level of consistency please feel free to recommend it.

For your style of vaping, just get a Nautilus or Mini Nautilus and some spare coils.

Alright the nautilus mini seems much better for me, thought it has a slight cotton taste / smell. (I left it to prime over night so it should be fine)

I'm assuming that's OK. I'm enjoying it a lot.

The cotton taste will disappear after roughly 1/2 tank Ewol
