I've been gone for ages and need some advise.

I used to post quite frequently on here, but a lot of things have happened in the last couple of years. Anyway, I'm still not smoking, but I've been on Nicotine gum for the past 2 years. More or less.

I'm getting some real nasty side effects that are caused by the chewing gum, that I won't go into details about. (Trust me you don't want to know)

So, I was considering picking up vaping again as an alternative to the gum. I don't have any of my old gear anymore. (Again, long story and you don't want to know) From lurking and reading the popular kits right now seem to be the iStick 50W and Nautilus Mini. The thing is... I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere. Another one that seems popular is the Kangertech SUBOX MINI, but that seems to be some rebuildable? I don't fancy trying to tackle that. I want something low maintenance and the Nautilus Mini at least seems fairly easy to replace the bits and bobs. Sorry, I forget all the terminology.

Anyway, I hope all the people I used to talk to are keeping well. Especially, Banky, Storm, Chrissie and Karma. Apologies if I've forgot anyone, but it's been a while.

I'm not really sure what to get. To be honest. It looks like the quality of products available now has went up a lot in recent years. Well, based on browsing the various sites I've been looking at. The box mods are a lot more appealing than the old stick style, I have to admit. Probably easier to balance on ones desk as well I'd imagine.

I noticed vapeescape has closed, do you know what happened?

EDIT: Oh yeah another thing. I wonder what strength of juice I should get now. It's pretty hard to judge considering I've been using gum. I chew like 5 or 6 pieces of 2mg gum a day. I've been using my mums ecig a bit today, but the juice she uses is 18mg and it's blowing my head off.

hi try 6mg juice, its what im on and have been since after about a month vaping.. My fag habit was upto 10 roll-ups a day..

imho an istick 50w is a good solid mod

They have the istick on amazon and I have prime so can get next day delivery, but I'm not sure I would trust getting anything ecig related off amazon.

Go for it  Just pay with paypal for security, in my limited experience of a couple of paypal disputes they tend to find for the purchaser and a full refund follows..

The subtank is great you'll be blown away how it performs. I'd recommend 3mg juice 6mg may be a bit high in a Subtank.

I only asked about Amazon because if you read the reviews here www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ZS4YINI there is a lot of people complaining about leaking. It made me wonder if the product was legitimate.

BTW with the above I don't need a seperate battery charger? I can just buy a battery and charge it with the devices USB cable it supplies?

That's quite correct, although personally I prefer to take my batteries out to charge them - but it's entirely down to the individual.

Reviews I take with a pinch of salt myself as many issues are down to user error, whether peeps admit it or not. I'd go for it.

As Perpetua says above you will need seperate suitable batteries like Sony VTC4's or Samsung 25R's plus a decent charger like a Intellicaharger.

ETA: BUT you can charge with the USB on the MOD, the battery choice is more important initially.

I've had a look for iSticks on Amazon with Prime Delivery as both the ISticks 40W and 30W have internal batteries and you just plug in a USB lead but I can't see one with a Subtank that you can buy with Prime delivery

The Subtank sometimes has a bit of "seepage" through the air intake holes that is mainly due to condensation, I sometimes find if left overnight that it needs a quick dab with a tissue to mop up a drop or two, but nothing major. Other than that in use I don't get any leaks and I have four.

Yes they're fine for this kit, I have 2 of them also, the 35A is questionable (probably more like 20A continuous) but will certainly do for this MOD.

ETA: Just check that with the Subox you can vape on it whilst charging, especially if you're only getting one battery, I would advise a minimum of 2.

Unfortunately, I will still need to wait for juice. I bought some off novavapes unsure what they'll be like, but they had some interesting flavours. I hope this doesn't spur on endless experimentation again.
