Hi, I am new here but have been wanting to know how many people are using a nicotine alternative. With the laws on nicotine getting stricter across the globe it is imperative that we find alternatives. Currently I have been looking at two alternatives. The first one is wolf peach or more commonly known as tomato plant. The other is herbal teas. Can anyone tell me if they have tried either and their thoughts on them? This is very important to my cause. I really think if we do not find alternatives that are safe the government will shut done nicotine use of all kinds.

Yes it is a discussion here to ban or make the tax so high people could not afford it.

I really think if we do not find alternatives that are safe the government will shut done nicotine use of all kinds. I don't follow your logic. There is no shortage of Nicotine in this house. 1. cigarettes 2. e-cigarette 3. tablets, lozenges, sprays 4. patches. Only e-cigs are in the government's line of fire. I could make myself doolally for 45p a day overdosing with Nicotine 'pills' but I choose to vape. Nicotine is cheap. The government won't ban NRT, not a hope in this galaxy.

Hello & welcome tj12I also don't follow your logic. Can you tell us a bit more about yourself? For starters, do you use e-cigs?

tj12 I stand to be corrected but surely you are pointing to alternative sources of nicotine not an alternative to nicotine?

While the government may wish to ban/tax nicotine they will just drive the demand underground. That totally defeats the stated purpose of protecting the vaping public.

Hi tj12 welcome to aaec,, most of us in here have switched to to e-cigs or vaping fairly easily and painlessly, I for one had tried cold turkey a few times and nrt and still gone back.. while vaping was an easy transition once i had looked past the options at the chemists/corner shop. even with the impending TPD and its counter-productive measures Nicotine levels for most, just not the starters coming from a heavy tobacco habit. will still be available.. The diy juice mixers will have a litre or 2 in the freezer for the immediate future. would be good if you could say hi in the introductions section..

I started vaping about 6 mnths ago and since then the government here in the USA is doing everything to try and ban it. They site that nicotine is dangerous and one city Chicago has implemented such high tax that it shut down most of the brick and mortar stores. In Chicago You now have to charge an extra $17 dollars per 30ml bottle.
New tax is .55 cent per ml and an additional .80 cents per unit. Other cities are trying to do the same. They say it is because of nicotine. I say it is because they do not get to collect the tax they did with Cigs and my be even the Cig companies are complaining sales have dropped.

I think you are probably right. There was quite a lot of talk a while ago about the loans cities had taken out on the back of cigarette taxes, which are now in massive decline. Nick

While the government may wish to ban/tax nicotine they will just drive the demand underground. That totally defeats the stated purpose of protecting the vaping public. The non stated purpose of protecting big business is the aim.

True whiteclouds, but as with most things like that, it won't work and has unintended consequences.
