You are better off leaving it, solid core is too stiff and you risk ripping off the PCB pad when reassembling it.

was tounge and cheek with regards to using household wire, I'll buy some if I have to. ...... but as I said won't be running over 100watts and that will be for all of a second.

At that level I would expect your choice of batteries will be more of a limit, but both the batteries and wire should be fine at that level.

Yea knew the batteries would be a limiting factor hence the wire being a non issue to me then.
