It is not just safety Evolv have said that too thin wiring even on the battery wires destabilises temp sensing. so without trawling the interweb whats your opinion on this mod......? mine is if they cant get the gauge of the wire correct ill give it a miss. Mine opinion is get one with a lipo although I wouldn't mind one for the 18650s I have but would be changing the wire first..

You should see the cheap wiring on some luxury cars. Anything to save a few bob. (Helpful post of the month award...)

IDK, but from over a year with DNA40 the battery contact will affect the available power, on mine I use copper contacts and they need a clean now and again or I get problems. A Yilong flask I am working on could start throttling power with a 4.1 V battery the case, connection & wiring design is so poor, the workmanship was OK, just bad design, I uprated all the wiring, add some new wiring and made a solid copper terminal to contact the battery cap for it to perform right with a real Evolv board.IIRC the last ProVaris suffered badly if the battery contact was no perfect.
If I had a reuleaux I would replace that wiring, but maybe I would then find it needed stronger battery springs.... IMO 18650 should be OK if you are not maxing it, but you have more contacts to keep clean etc and the voltage sag on 18650s is not going to be as low as LiPos so the battery life will be less that it would seem on paper. It could be one of those mods that starts playing up as it get old, the connections get dirty or the springs get weaker.

Thanks gm111 VapingBadThink ill give it a miss, liked the fact it used 18650s but not buying a 100 quid mod to take apart and re solder. Got my Windows DNA200 and an efusion lipos and am very happy with them. The watts i use more than happy with my DNA40s and would buy another if i like the mod, the 40 does 99% of what i need\use.

I imagine they will be embarrassed by the wiring and uprate in the future, but IMO it is not going to be one of those mods that lasts indefinably as there is too much plastic and being heavy that is a bad combination if you drop it, I have no idea how good the 510 is and it looks like VT & FD would not easily fit (rekon the nut will get in the way) but the price is low for what you get. I was considering one just for on my desk to use those 20 x 25r + 10 x VTC4 that don't get much use these days, I will probably go back to plan A and make a 2 x 18650 one in a stomp box.

As Flavoured pointed out on ECF the negative should be from the other end of the battery pack, maybe they are using the chassis, I would like to see better pictures.

I believe Nick has one of these VapingBad so when he sees the post on the Evolv forum I'm sure he'll end up taking his apart to check it out for everyone..

dwcraig opened his up and it does seem to be a common earth evolvapor.forumchitchat.com/post/reuleaux-by-wismec-7767437?pid=1289944196Like this And he said the battery positive is 20 AWG so if that is silicon and I'm correct about the common ground etc it is up to the min spec. ETA it is not silicone and he just measured by comparing to other wire, so I would say it is probably just below spec.

so the thin wire causing concern is an additional earth? see the labels I put in grey on the diagram, I am 95% sure they are the middle 2 balance wires (max 0.04 A so fine) and there must be a common ground from the battery cradle negative to the chassis so no negative battery wire needed.

No massive reason not to BrenD, it seems and can only be 95% sure at best from 3rd party info, to be a little under spec so not a mod for high wattage vapers. If you look at the tail end of the Evolv thread you see it suffers a lot more battery sag than a LiPo mod.

Right modders/wire gauge experts who have bothered to look at the DNA200 spec sheet it looks like I got one of these coming....highest I vape is 50 watts - 100 watt pre-heat, will limit to 100 watts in ecribe because I wanna use 3no HGs for 9000mah anyway. So have I got look for some twin and Earth wire in the shed to sort this thin one out...?

You are better off leaving it, solid core is too stiff and you risk ripping off the PCB pad when reassembling it.
