Changing PG/VG ratio in pre-mixed juice

Hi All,

I am awaiting delivery of a Kanger Subox Mini kit on a slow boat from China.  I've been trying to read up on juices to use in it, especially using the 0.5ohm OCC coils.  I am more than comfortable with recoiling and rewicking coils to the appropriate resistance.

I normally use an 80%pg/20%vg 18mg mix in kayfuns/Russians as my preference is for a good throat hit rather than producing clouds.  From what I have read and understood, I will have to use a greater VG mix with a lower nic content to get best use out of the subtank, especially if sub-ohming.  I was potentially looking at going to a 50/50 pg/vg mix with nic 6mg - does this seem right for a startting point?

Also, I have some 80%pg/20%vg 18mg RY4 which I like and some 100%vg 0mg RY4 (bought by mistake!) of the same make (I also have 54mg nic + PG & VG liquid for mixing).  What I can't get my head round is what ratio of each would I need to use to end up with something roughly around the 50/50 6mg I want to start with.  I assume I might have to add more pg/vg to get the ratios about right?  If I do an equal mix, would I end up with a 54/46 pg/vg mix at 9mg or is it not that simple?

Or am I better just starting from scratch and making my own?

Any thoughts/suggestions would be gratefully received as I am seriously confused!

6mg would be the absolute highest I'd vape in a subtank personally. I switched to 3mg as soon as I moved onto one from a Nautilus.

OK tokari I think I sussed it.

The problem here is that you can't chuck 50/50 at it to get the nic level you want without diluting the flavour sooooo...

Take 20ml of the 80/20 juice. You have (16ml of pg and 4ml of vg in there) and 1.8mg/10ml of nic so 3.6mg total in 20ml

Add 12ml of the 100vg juice. (Now 32ml total = 16ml of pg and 16ml of vg flavour) so 50/50. Still the same amount of nic in there 3.6mg. So strength is now 3.6mg in 32ml so 1.1mg/10ml or 11mg as you call it.

To get it down to 6% you would have to dilute with pure 50/50 and that would thin the flavour.

or add 20ml of the 100vg juice to 20ml of the 80/20 to give you 40ml of 40pg/60vg at 8% nic or 8mg. that should work

Of course that could be total bull poo poo. Can one of you mixologists please check my sums?

The nic is PG and I have about 50ml of the 80pg/20vg and 70ml of the vg.

Both require a little guesstimating at first to refine the end calculation, although are easy enough to use.
