I'm thinking of trying LR cartos on my Riva, as I miss the warmer vapour and TH from cigs. But, as LR burn hotter do they also last a shorter time?

I know they use up the battery power quicker, but not noticed the cartos dying faster.

Same as Anne, I've not noticed LR's dying faster.

I have 3 tanks going at the moment with 2 on Boge 2 ohm carto's and 1 on a Resurrector 1.7, just a rebranded Smoktec.
One juice is a known carto killer and that has been going 5 days and is close to being done.
The other two are in relatively clear juice and have reached day 8 and no sign of slowing down as yet. I had 3 ohm carto's in the tanks before these and no difference so far.

From an electrical engineering point of view you would expect the amount of power expended by any coil to affect its longevity in the way you describe.
Other factors like usage patterns and construction materials would also come into play.
The anecdotal evidence above suggests there's not much difference between SR and LR, but to be certain you'd need to conduct a statistically significant number of trials to confidently answer your question with numbers.
In other words don't worry about it, try it out, you can't lose much by giving it a go to see how you get on.

usually with cartos its the type of juice used that generally dictates how long they last as its the caking up of gunk that kills them rather than the coil burning out
with an atty however your theory stands up and SR tend to outlast LR as their death is usually cased by burning out

The variables come in with atty's when talking about variable voltage devices.
I have a 1.5 ohm atty that has been used for 3 weeks perfectly well with a little TLC courtesy of a vodka bath every now and again however it is on a 3.7 volt device.
Had another 1.5 ohm, exactly the same and delivered at the same time same manufacturer etc, that I found a sweet spot for with a certain juice at 4.2 volts on variable voltage device. Popped last week.
Now the issue is consistency of manufacture. Had 2 carto's from the same box behave differently and even had two Hybrid atty's from the same 2 pack behave differently so I am afraid you can only generalise about these things but not really hang your hat on them.
