As some of you know there has been a scare coming from Facebook about Wismec not bending the screen cable properly, it is true and I have seen a post elsewhere where Wismec say they have fixed it now. If the cable gets pinched in the fire button, IF, it can kill your screen and they are almost impossible to get hold of ATM. The "fix" doing the rounds has caused a few people to break their screen cables, it involves removing the screen, bending the cable and refitting it, not that hard, but some people still manage to break and you do have to be careful. I did a less risky fix on my one that does not involve removing the screen or bending the cable with a bit of plastic for some clear packaging. I gently worked the plastic in between the wire and the switch from the direction of the arrow then trimmed the excess off. Not pictured, but to get the front cover off just remove the lower 4 Phillips screws in the battery compartment, if your cable already has a S bend on it and is well clear of the switch you don't need to do anything.

You can't fix a broken screen cable except by replacing the screen, they are not guaranteed to go, but my one was definitely vulnerable and it is the same batch as yours, watch out for the fire button feeling different and hope that that is not too late.

No and doubt I will bother, they will loose a bit of the available battery power and there is risk of soldering these battery contacts and distorting the plastic of the battery cradle. If I was vaping >150 W or say a problem I probably would.

Vaping on mine now, just pressed the fire button as hard as I could and screen still on so "passed".

A few people broke there working mods after reading a FB how to that has been reposted on other forums and am just trying to reduce that risk with a easier method. It has been well know since the first week of release you have to rout these properly, a lot of production mods failed in the first month due to it. I just answered a guy on the Evolv forum who's Vapecig has killed it own screen after 2 months, just hope he didn't get it from GB.

Nah first i've heard of it mate but then i don't follow what's happening much with the DNA200 stuff, you know me i'm not into the TC stuff and don't like LiPo packs so don't follow the chatter much, i just clicked this thread in case it was about the RX200. Bit shoddy a proper manufacturer not following the installation guidelines from Evol properly.

I was going to do a joke about sending my CV the their QA department being returned as department does not exist, but they did an OK job overall especially considering the price, I paid about £78 for it delivered.

Still shouldn't have to piss about with it though even for that price, the QC gag was aimed at letsavit by the way for his QC pass technique of just jamming the button down as hard as he could and seeing if it ballsed the screen up.

Hi VapingBad
Is this for the DNA200 or RX200 or both? My son has the DNA and I have a RX200 on the slow boat.

Woo Hoo my RX200 was waiting for me at home yesterday. Unfortunately the 3000mah batteries are still in the Beijing Triangle, I think Lord Lucan is hand delivering them.

Just the DNA Version, if you take the front cover off the screen cable would just be a plain loop extending under the main housing and touching the switch, if it is a later model the cable will have a couple of bends keeping it away from the switch. If you attempt to bend the cable just be gentle, don't bend twice in the same spot, don't bend the 2 mm nearest the screen, be very gentle with the socket clip releasing and refitting the cable, bending around a credit card or 1 mm rod is safer than folding.
