Has anyone ever tried one on one custard concentrate? I've recently got some from a well known vendor that I've used many times and it smells horrible nothing like custard .my first thought was that it might be because it's highly concentrated so I mixed some up at the recommended 5% and it still doesn't smell right somewhere between sweaty feet and beef stock it's not nice

Never tried it jim750 . . . . Capella or TPA's have always been my custards of choice, others have proved to be disappointing for me. Have you been back in touch with the Vendor concerned?

Perpetua yes I emailed them last week they simply said that it will probably smell better once it's mixed. So I gave it a go let it breath for 24 hours also but not still smells horrible. Thought think I will stick to cap and tfa custard from now on

Thought think I will stick to cap and tfa custard from now on They are are hard to beat . . . . I've always found anyway jim750. Every so often I try something different - just incase I'm missing out on the best thing ever, you know how it is! But still come back to Capella or TPA, although I must say I really, really enjoy DV's Creme Anglaise and have added it to my ' must have in ' custardy concentrates. Anyhow, back to your One on One . . . . tuck it away for 3 or 4 weeks perhaps, then see how it is - anything custardy does take a good time to be at its nicest.
