That sounds sensible Perpy She could be monitored on NHS but would still have the hand to mouth vapour thing going on

to be blunt having a baby should give her enough incentive to give up any kind of smoking and not want to add any additional risks into the equation Easier said than done Gordy. I got down to 5 a day when i was pregnant and when i mentioned it to my GP, his advice was to carry on with the 5 rather than stop altogether as that would be worse.

On most of the vendors websites or hand outs, they do say e-cigs are not recommended to be used during pregnancy. However, as others have said, if she can't give up smoking, then harm reduction is a better option. Absolutely Ditto! I'm surprised GP's advise the use of NRT products as nicotine is best avoided during pregnancy but providing blood pressure is in the normal range, vaping would be a better option than smoking. One is monitored for all things nasty during pregnancy, therefore there is always to option to drop the e-cigs if all is not well. Another option available with e-cigs but not tobacco, is to intersperse the use of zero nic juices with the regular, albeit lower strength, nic juice. The Riva would be the perfect choice as it produces loads of vapour brain for the fooling of!! Fox

I give a Health and Safety handout to all my customers, and it does state that "Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding", I did show her this leaflet. I think this is going to be her choice. Although it doesn't make me feel any easier. I wonder if tobacconists get any guilty feelings over issues like this. Probably not.

Well . . . you can only do your best to advise Dave, after that it's down to the individuals choice, whether they're pregnant or not. So I wouldn't let it rest on your conscience.

the way i see it is she is going to get her nic fix somehow if it was through smoking or e cigs at least with her coming into see you,you can steer her towards lower nic but if she ordered online it is not face to face and the vendor will not know her condition and will supply her with whatever strength see clicks on...i would be happier for her to have 12/16 mg instead of 24mg +...there is a lot of talk about young mums smoking throughout pregnancy and i think e cigs are a better option than nasties with less chemicals going into the unborn child...a bit of nicotine is far better than all that other crap...not as good as not having anything but the best of two evils

Paul, out of interest, where is your shop? We often get members asking if there is any shop near them that sells e-cigs.

I have been open about 6 weeks, it's in Bridlington, East Yorkshire. I don't have a web site, bricks and mortar only. I like the personal touch.

Lol . . . hello Paul, that's quite a butch name as well. Hope your shop does really well, for many people I'm sure having some one ' in the flesh ' to demo an ecig will be a huge advantage . . . it's probably easier to overcome any resistance they might have when they can see a vaper like yourself who is successful and still sane!

Lol, as a child, Brid was where my parents took us to on holiday Wishing you lots of success with the shop Paul I've been meaning to try & compile a list of B&M e-cig shops, so if you let me know the name & full address of it, plus a rough idea of items stocked, I'll put you on the list when I get round to it

Many thanks for your support, the shop is going very well. I have done no advertising at all, it's all been word of mouth how effective these e cigs are.
Face to face selling is great because everyone who buys a kit goes out of the shop knowing how to fill a carto, what is the best way to draw on the cart to get the best vapour and flavour, and has a chance to try at least 15 flavours of juice, I show them some of the problems with overfilling and burning dry a cart.
All leave the store with a working e cig to use on the way home and some knowledge of problems they may encounter.
The drawback is that it takes around 30 minutes per customer. But this method seems to work.

Just to keep you informed, this young lady has been back and bought a Riva kit.
Her doctor said anything was better than fags, and although he knew next to nothing about e cigs they sounded a great idea.
