I plan to run my RX200 on 3 x Samsung INR18650-30Qs they are 3000mah and 15A continuous. Get Off My Cloud is that OK or am I pushing it. Electrikery is a total mystery to me, gimme nuts, bolts and hydraulics any day. It really depends on the coil resistance and what Watts you are vaping at. Go www.steam-engine.org/ohm.asp put your resistance in and set the Current value to 15 and it will tell you the limit of how high you can safely set the Watts for that build. For example a 0.3ohm build the ceiling for Watts would be 67.5W but that's pushing the battery to it's limit in Current discharge at 15A. If you dropped it and gave it a 2A headroom and set the current to 13A your ceiling for Watts is 50.7W. The higher the resistance of the coil the more Watts you could use without using as much current draw. A 0.5ohm build drawing 13A for example would be 84.5W. The manufacturer recommends 25A rated batteries but 20A is safe enough for most builds i would say. If you're going to do builds at higher resistances and use lower Watts the 30Q's should be ok but why not just use the LG HG2 browns which have the same 3000mAh but a 20A continuous discharge rating?

Thanks Get Off My Cloud that is as clear as mud. The reason I was thinking -30Qs is because I have those, I do not have any others. They are billed as high drain batteries, I assumed that meant they were up to the task. Does the fact that there are 3 of them doing the work have any influence? I will get some 25Rs on order me thinks.

I was reading a battery thread on the evolve forum earlier and for the life of me I can't find it to link to.
Basicly the 30Q is under rated at 15amps, its more like 20amps which is good and they can be pushed up to 30A......but thats pushing them, no safety margins.
You could use them but safe output will be limited to around 50 watts, anymore and the Realeaux starts to draw 23+ amps. You will be overloading them, not really something you want to do with your nice new DNA200
Pity really because my original thinking was to put them in my Realeaux, Sony VTC4s are good even at a paltry 2100mAh and I have in the last few minutes recieved some new samsung 25Rs so once I load a profile for them.....we're off.
